skate is the closest thing to skateboarding without actually putting your feet on a board. With innovative controls that take advantage of the dual analog sticks, the power of the next gen hardware, and the ability to sculpt tricks that define your own style, skate delivers an authentic boarding mecca like no other videogame.

Individual style combined with physics-driven animations promise that no two tricks will ever be the same. And there's plenty of room to pull off those tricks - San Vanelona challenges you to explore, find, and own the best spots. You can even capture footage to create and show off your style with friends across the world - because without footage, it's fiction.

Get ready for all the fun, creativity and culture of skateboarding without the hours of practice, broken bones, and hospital visits.

Flickit: The days of button mashing are over. The intuitive Flickit dual analog control lets you perform skill-based trick executions that capture the real-world feel and true attitude of skating.

Define Your Style of Skating: Create your own style and personality with animation and physics that give you the freedom to decide how your skater looks, feels and rides. Get creative as you develop your own tricks and string them together to create lines.

Without Footage, It's Fiction: Capture your sickest moves in game and bring them online for the world to see. Using innovative online video editing tools and add music to create the ultimate skate vid.

Create Your Own Story: Skaters don't follow rules, they can choose how they want to progress through the game. Open progression allows gamers to skate how they want to skate. Become famous and generating mainstream hype or go the infamous route by outrunning security guards, owning spots and building street cred. Depending on how you roll in the game, you'll start seeing your own coverage in Thrasher or The Skateboard Mag.

Make San Vanelona Your Playground: Get chased by security guards, impress and/or annoy the citizens in this fully reactive city. San Vanelona is the ultimate skate mecca where you can ride with pros, discover skate shops, and own spots to make them yours.

Roll with the Pros: skate features professional legends and upcoming pros including Danny Way, Mark Gonzales, Rob Dyrdek, Mike Carroll, P.J. Ladd, Chris Cole, Jason Dill, Pat Duffy, Jerry Hsu, Paul Rodriguez, Dennis Busenitz, Alex Chalmers, Chris Haslam, Colin McKay, John Rattray, Ryan Gallant, Ryan Smith and Terry Kennedy.

Online Gameplay: skate features an extensive online gameplay system including multiple online multiplayer modes. Gamers can hit up popular spots in the city with friends across the country.

The best skateboard simulator so far!

A seasoned ex skater myself, its nice to see a game come along thats not just about learning button combos to perform amazing tricks right out of the box. This game really makes you think about the tricks you are about to do and puts you in control of the skaters legs and positioning to pull them off. The camera view is excellent, simulating another skater along side you with a video camera. The sound effects are spot on, and really add to the whole experience.
I have a few Tony Hawk games and now feel they are over sponsored and about as commercial as you can imagine, I certainly was not looking to buy any more versions of Tony for more of the same.. but just when I thought it was all over, this game has got my attention again and for all the right reasons, and gladly deserves the cash..
Nice to see a true skater experience, with no ads plastered everywhere trying to claw back some of the money paid to Tony for using his name.

Well done guys, a must buy for anyone looking for a good skater experience..

             In you're face Tony Hawk's

This game is better than tony hawks. It is a lot more realistic and there is more places to go. Well, you have a whole city!! Another thing is that it is more realistic beacuse on tony hawks there are ramps stuck in the middle of no where where as on skate there is the occasional skate park but mostly you have to make the world into you're park! On skate you also have to get a carear and get sponsers. My sponsers are baker boards and dc shoes. Sponsers mean everytime you do a challenge you will get money to but more boards or cool things.

I would recommend this game to people who love skate games or can skate.

I gave it 5 star because the gameplay is superb .

So much better than Tony Hawks

This game is incredible!! I was always a big fan of the Tony Hawks series, but this game completely redefines the genre.
The game feels a lot more fluid, a lot more lifelike, than the manic hammering of buttons that Tony Hawk has. This is mainly down to the new control system called 'Flick-it', and it is just that, you 'flick' the right analog stick to perform the tricks, and do different variations to do increasingly harder tricks.
I cannot wait for the sequel, as this is definitely the best skateboarding game to date!

             If you Skate buy Skate!!

What an awesome game, i used to skate when i was about 11 until i was 18. and this is exactly what i always wanted in a skate game. On tony Hawk i used to put the attributes right down so you was unable to do unrealistic silly tricks. If you like to do 1080 spins off a 20 story building in a blunt then dont buy this game! if you want a game that represents the skating world buy it. The new control system is awesome. granted it takes a few goes to get the hang of it but when you do its brilliant! when you land a sick trick you get a buzz cus it looks so mint! defo recomment this to anyone that wants a realistic skate game! what graphics as well.

             True Brilliance!

Skateboarding on a next-gen console does not get better than this! I'll start from the ground up, the graphics are unbeatable for a skateboarding game, the concrete, wood or metal looks exactly how it should look!

Next, the sounds, the effects that come from your board are great! Whether you're just rolling along, popping an ollie or grinding a hand-rail, the sound is perfect!

Your skater is customisable with licensed skateboarding sponsors from NikeSB to Etnies, you can even customise your board to suit your style, choosing your wheels, trucks and deck.

Then you have the bails. Faceplants, bashing the crown jewels on rails or simply slipping the board from beneath you, the bails look great! No animated bails, just real-time falling!

Then you have the levels, the graphics make the levels look so realistic! The ramps, rails and buildings look life-like!

If you even remotely like skating, i would seriously buy this game! It's not the graphics or the sounds that make the game what it is, it's just how fun it is! Beat's Tony Hawk's games by a long yard!
