You are humanity's last hope for survival.

A long-dormant evil emerges from the caves of Mars, unleashing Armageddon on the planet's colonists. With this force stopping at nothing to cleanse the planet of life, mankind finds itself poised on the brink of extinction.

Red Faction: Armageddon expands on the critically acclaimed, best-selling franchise with new, groundbreaking challenges.
  • Hell on Mars: Darius Mason can only watch as the surface of Mars is destroyed. Seeking solace underground, an even greater threat emerges against humanity
  • Nano Forge: Unleash the devastating force of the Nano Forge with massive concussive blasts or reconstruct downed colonist defences with Geo-Mod 2.0
  • Martian underground: The truth behind an ancient evil will force Darius to wage a battle across the devastated Martian surface, beneath massive frozen glaciers, and over rivers of broiling magma

 Enjoyable

This game has been given a lot of mixed reviews, and understandably there are some who feel that it does not live up to "Guerilla", however i feel that it needs to be said that this franchise didnt start off as a sand box game either, it was the Geo mod engine that made it so popular. "Guerilla" brought a nice twist to the game, making it sandbox, and adding the 3rd person perspective. "Armageddon" has stepped away from the sandbox type game and gone back to its roots in my opinion, and i think it works well. The graphics are up to standard and what you would expect, with some nice lighting effects, and there is certainly plenty to do and shoot at. The story is solid, and drives you well with some fairly decent voice acting, and nice FMV sequences. I think that the Nano Forge is a nice touch too, allowing you to rebuild damaged walkways, and equipment, some of which is needed to progress in the game. Although not long, I still feel that this is a good game, keeping up a lot of the original factors that made the the red faction franchise so popular, and although it does not have the replayability of "Guerilla", its still a good and enjoyable romp.

Missions can become a bit repetitive, and sometimes you do get bogged down by enemy, however, these are mute points when looking at the bigger picture. All in all an enjoyable game, and worth looking at in my opinion

 NOT THE BEST

This is more like kill zone 2 than red faction very boring, graphics arent that great and the story is weak! if you like red faction WAIT until the price drops because it is not worth the 37pounds

 back to its roots

really good game and back to its roots playing 3rd person enjoyable all the way through with all the guns you'd want good story with good cut scenes and sound graphics not open world but as i said back to its roots like the first two on the ps2 yes its had mixed review but that prob from the people who never played the first one's and only played the thrid game guerrilla the open world one

 not bad but not good

i must say that there are some parts in this game that are really good but after gurilla i was expecting more of the same, where this lets you down. the singleplayer takes 50 hours tops to fully complete it especally with the new game+ that has been put in which makes isane difficulty borderline rubbish. the storyline is well done however even with bits where you knew that it was going to happen which can ruin it, the vehicle combat is a good part but can get suprisingly annoying especally on the harder difficulties. when on the multiplayer i felt more like i was playing AVP rather than red faction due to the infestation mode that is uterally pointless. so if you enjoyed playing red faction gurilla id say rent this game rather than buy it because its not worth buying
