Dragon's Dogma is an exciting new franchise which redefines the action genre from the team that produced some of Capcom's greatest action games. Set in a huge open world, Dragon's Dogma offers an exhilarating and fulfi lling action combat game with the freedom to explore and interact in a rich, living and breathing world. Alongside your party of three, you set out to track down and destroy a mysterious dragon.

Your teammates fight independently of you, demonstrating prowess and ability they have developed based on traits learned over time from you and your actions. Dragon's Dogma offers a near endless opportunity to help develop partner characters to fi ght alongside you. With an epic story and incredible action, Dragon's Dogma is set to be one of Capcom's newest hit franchises.
  • Capcom has announced that purchasers of Dragon's Dogma will have the opportunity to be amongst the first to experience a playable demo of Resident Evil 6, ahead of its release on October 2nd.
  • Dragon's Dogma on PS3 contains a redeemable token that will allow owners to download the Resident Evil 6 demo. Purchasers of the PS3 version of Dragon's Dogma will be able to redeem this token and download the Resident Evil 6 demo on PSN from September 5th.

  • Highly stylised action combat: The creators of this game were responsible for the action hits - Resident Evil 4 and Devil May Cry 4
  • Fight with ability: The soul of combat comes down to how the game is played, where you strike the enemy, and how you react to their attacks
  • Accessible depth: Bringing an unprecedented level of depth to the action genre, every decision has an effect on gameplay in an intuitive way that does not require micromanagement. The weight of your weapon, the material of your armour - even the length of your legs - plays a role in how you fight your battles, but does not interrupt the flow of the action
  • Epic adventure: Dragon's Dogma is built from the ground up as an action experience for consoles with a continuous, epic storyline that stands alone in style, scope and substance
  • Open world: Utilising Capcom's proprietary MT Framework engine and the groundbreaking graphical styles and lighting effects used in Resident Evil 5 and Lost Planet 2, Dragon's Dogma expands the environment to create a vast, richly detailed world, ripe for exploration
  • A rich population: In addition to interacting with hundreds of fully voiced NPCs, you'll be able to fight a large variety of creatures, from goblins to griffins and dragons. Each enemy requires a different strategy and provides a unique experience

 Very Good RPG but....

I've managed to defeat the dragon and I thought It would be the end but... ( I'm not going to spoil anything ). You main job is to either kill the dragon or to sacrifice someone to bring peace to the world. Well its story starts really fast and nice but then you lost track of it by doing side missions because you rarely know which is the main story quest.

Graphically game looks very good with occasional blurry textures and tree bushes or magic tornadoes blocking your view. Sometimes its annoying when you are in battle. Few very nice touches, when you wear helmet in the city you will have it opened. But when you venture outside then your helmet will be closed. Game physics and animations looks very convincing and smooth. But sometimes game slow down especially when saving. Ah, and you can have ONLY one Save slot ( which is design flaw ). And it adds a little bit difficulty.

Game world seems big at first glance but its smaller than Skyrim's. Most of it is surrounded by water and you can't swim because monster will toss you away on random beach lol.

Combat system is a combination of Dark Souls, Monster Hunter and dynasty warriors. So we have a bit of button mashing and a bit of tactical action ( waiting for the opportunity to attack ) and Skill system which is very good. You can have 6 active skill ( Warriors only 3 ) but they are usually very powerful and entertaining to watch :) .

Pawns ( your AI comrades ) can be a bit dumb at times and are rarely helpful. You will find yourself pressing left or right on the D pad ( for Help ) to get them to heal you or buff . My pawns died so many times while I still had at least half of HP. It seems they learn VERY slowly. But with higher level and better knowledge they will dodge and cast right spells. So later on they improve a bit.

Difficulty in this game isn't scaled to your level. So sometimes you will just avoid certain enemies until you find some better equipment or level up. And this can be annoying because it will involve loads of Backtracking to the places you've visited. Yep, and even teleportation cost a lot. And even then you can't teleport anywhere but only to the "Stone portal". I've saved up around 400 k gold to get myself griffin armor and a decent two-handed sword plus I bought some stuff for my pawn. But later on I've found really good equipment but I couldn't afford it since single sword ( at the end of the game ) can cost over one milion gold. And materials you can gather are used to improve weapons and armor not to craft them lol.

Well overall its a very good game with great combat and atmospheric dungeons ( but there are few of them :( few things however are missing that's why I give it only 4 stars. Because apart from questing and fighting there isn't much to do in the game. You can't farm or you can't even romance ( well you can give gifts to people to increase their affinity ). And the world map is small... I've killed the dragon after maybe 16-18 hours in the game and in the end it turns out that it's better to level up to at least lvl 80... because stuff that awaits after defeating the dragon.... is just beyond description.

 Welcome... Arisen!

WHAT A GAME! An RPG that really stands out from the crowd! Perfectly balances a simplistic style of play with a rich, diverse, character driven world! From the start the character customization (which is important in an RPG) is diverse and deep yet simple and 'no nonsense'. I recreated myself as an Arisen in less than 15 mins! As far as the story goes, you can tell from the opening cinematic that this will be an adventure and it does not fail to deliver. With a few fantastic twists at the end! You will find yourself touched and inspired! As far as game play mechanics goes, this simple 'shoulder buttons' to assign skills is inspired! Easy to use, upgrade your skills and head out to hunt some hydra! There are basic classes (fighter, ranger, mage) to get you started, until you progress to the capital city, where the inn keeper will change your vocation to an advanced form of the basic classes, or a hybrid class (magic archer, magic warrior etc.). Each class, or vocation has so many skills and augmentations to acquire! This alone makes for a very high replay value! (I am on my second play through and loving it more than the first time!). The other thing I have to mention is spell effects... if you are anything like me you love to encant a good spell, well this game really goes for it in the effects department! You will be summoning meteors from the sky to obliterate the battle field, causing giant maelstroms that will reach heavenward and even cause glaciers to thrust out of the ground, impaling the enemy! The monsters that roam the lands are also a sight to behold! Each more fearsome than the next! All in all, this game was somewhat under-hyped, perhaps because of the developers perceived lack of experience in making RPGs, but I can say from experience that this game will thrill and delight even the most hardened RPG fans! I hope CAPCOM will deliver a worthy sequal!

 rpg fan? must have!

You look at the PS3 and think, why are there not more excellent RPGs? Well now there is one more; DD, and it's very good. It is at times reminisent of skyrim, demon souls and fable.
It is difficult each victory is earned.
The action resides in a beautifully rendered world where an innocent looking path leads you to new quests and adventures. The combat is not as up close and personal as Demon souls but you do have choices and tactics have to be worked on to score a victory. The game allows you to build a team of four which adds depth and strategy to the game with an online feature that is at least amusing.
Minuses? The dialogue can be irritating and sometimes the camera work is poor as the action can be obscured in battle. But with a range of enhancable charcaterisics from skills to weapons, herbs, stores, magic and pawns, this is a must have for anyone who's ever loved taking that path in the forest with only a magic staff, robes and a couple of companions.

 Brilliant

The fighting is awesome! the visuals are awesome! In fact just about everything is awesome. The story can be a bit slow at times, but thats kinda the same thing with all Japanese RPGs. If you like dark souls, demons souls, viking battle for Asgard or Diablo..... buy this game!
