Disappointing - Buy Assassins Creed 4 Blag Flag instead

I've liked all of the Assassins games to date apart from AC3. Very repetitive and uninspiring. I part exchanged my copy for AC4 and within 1 minute of playing AC4 I knew it was the right decision.

  long long great

A great game which is very long . it doesn't have a lot of missions but they are very long. the graphics are wonderful and are the best from the whole ac series . the characters are cool. story 8 graphics 10 gameplay 8 epic 7 . a good game but in my opinion ACB is better.

So i didnt play this until recently as i didnt get into the assassins creed games until late. Now i have played them all and they get better and better each time! i would say brotherhood was better than revalations though! but Assassins creed 3 really did blow me away. One of the best games ive played this year. Really looking forward to Assassins creed 4 now!

The most annoying game I've ever played

| | See all deckard44's reviews (14)

If you value your sanity, don't play this game. The control system is the most annoying ridiculous system ever. The character will jump and cling to everything it touches, it'll touch a crate on the floor while your in the middle of a chase and perch on it. Absolutely ridiculous. Because of this there will be segments of the game you need to redo if you want to get full synchronisation. This means going back and redoing huge sections of game. Like I said, give this a miss if you value your sanity. A game is supposed to be an enjoyable experience, this is the total opposite. I'm a quarter way through, I won't be playing anymore. They really need to look at the controls and fix them

Ive loved every AC game but this is AWFUL

the controls suck
the camera angle sucks
the graphics are no improvement from AC revolutions
the storyline is poor, the start doesnt follow on from revolutions whatsoever
there is no development on the free running
counters have been replaced by a new system which doesnt work as fluidly as you have to make a secondary choice during the move
the weapon selection is poor

ive loved each and every other AC game, and have been looking forward to this one for along time but its just dreadful in everyway
theyve managed to not improve anything and the changes theyve made have ruined it completely

this is a late review because ive tried to give it a chance to improve and it simply doesnt

if its not broken dont try and fix it!

a big let down im affraid. im a big fan of the series and was really disappointed with this latest sequal. too much has been changed and the story is just too long and drawn out it becomes boring and tedious. the only real enjoyable part of the game was the last few story missions, just a shame the rest of the game wasnt like this!

IMO each game in this series is better and better. No exception. Game-play is brilliant, the story line is totally awesome and there is some longevity so you can spend plenty of time soaking up the excellent surroundings. Free-running through trees is brilliant!

  Worth buying

Ac3 in my opinion isn't the best in the series, but its not as bad as everyone says. Although I have had a few minor glitches ive never got anything so bad as to spoil the game. The story is great fun. Playing as connor is a breath of fresh air from the past few games. Free roaming has greatly improved with much larger maps and naval missions. Plus the multiplayer has also improved. The ending is quite a let down but nothing that should stop you from buying it, I suggest waiting until the price has gone to at least below 40 before buying.

  NextGen Assassin's Creed

I've played the first Assassin's Creed on my PC and the rest of sequels on my PS3 until now. Firs of all if you get the PC version you will get all the exclusive single-player missions that includes what are exclusive to PS3 as well. Another tidbit is that the PC version has been released with latest patch which fixes a lot of bugs and is of course graphically superior. Yes Ubisoft has said textures could look twice and some cases four times better.

Now let's talk about the game. This is the first time I am thrilled and excited to play Assassin's Creed game since the first game. Do not get me wrong the Ezio trilogy were great but it felt samey. There are so much new with this game. I am going to skip on naval warfare, hunting animals and bigger missions. The most impressive is how the game plays and looks. Many developers including Crytek, DICE and now Ubisoft upgraded their engine for next gen while it runs on current gen. This completely shows with Assassin's Creed 3. Aside from Borderlands 2 this is the most improved sequel this year. Connor climbs structures that includes trees very organically and combat which i do not know is due to excellent animations or what, is more fluid than ever before.

The first time you play as Connor is the same feeling as Altair in the caves back in Assassin's Creed is completely different than anything else.

I don't understand reviews from various publications giving this game 8-8.5 score. It's not game of the year but definitely a runner-up.

  Simply Sublime!

I'll try and keep this short and sweet...

This is probably the best game, visually, that I've ever played. On a full HD TV, it truly looks phenomenal! The gameplay is awesome and the missions are challenging, which is good! No one likes an easy game, right?
On contrary to other reviews, I personally, have yet to come across any glitches in the game. Though if I had to pick 1 fault, it would be the loading sequences. They just happen slightly too often for my liking.
Other than that, it's 10 out of 10!
