The World of The Godfather, Rebuilt for Next Gen: The authentic The Godfather experience reaches a new level on the Playstation 3 computer entertainment system with much more content than the current gen version of the game, including new hits, compounds, families, hubs, mini-games, and more.

The Power of Intimidation: Wield the power of the BlackHand like never before with new Sixaxis motion-sensing controls.

Do It Your Way: The non-linear action-adventure gameplay features original and film-based missions, including all-new missions.

The Godfather was one of those games I thought would not live up to the title. To try and produce a game which captures the theme and romance of the films was going to be a tall order.

I was very wrong. The game is truely one of the best games I have played. The gameplay, graphics, atmosphere, interaction and puzzles are top class.

GTA (Grand Theft Auto) has been a challenge for some years and one which I have enjoyed. After 10 minutes of playing the Godfather I knew the engine behind it was the same.

The world is enormous and encompasses all the areas of New York. The weapons are excellent and the gang wars bring blind panic once they start.

The only niggle I have is when you accidentally kill the store owner. This stops you from taking over the establishment for a good few days and makes progess slow. My advice, dont kill them!

You MUST buy this game for the PS3!

Those that played the original game on PS2 won't find much of a difference in the story line. However, the graphics have improved, and there are new features like hiring crew members, assigning skill points to improve your character in different ways and doing the occassional favour for someone. It's a game worth buying, especially if you're a fan of the films.

I've owned this game twice, completed 3 times and still think it's a fantastic game. This game didn't have to go too far to find a story after all it based on one of the best gangster films ever made.

You don't play as one of the main characters in the film however you play as a character that was on the side lines as the first film progressed. You can interact with all the main characters, and see some of the major and most memorable scenes from the film.

As I've said I've owned this game twice the first time was on the ps2. Playing the ps3 version though you can see a hell of a change. For starters the family houses are all different where as in the ps2 version the houses and layout are the same here you get different landscapes and houses making the game that little bit more challenging, ... and fun. Also with this version you can get missions directly from the don which gives you a better chance to interact with the main characters and hear their story it also makes the game last that little bit longer. There are also a couple of other extra missions in this version to help extend the game along with all the original missions of the ps2 version are here.

The only problem for some ... mind it didn't bother me that much playing it ... is the graphics. Apart from smoothing those out them are more or less the same as the ps2 version. Don't let this put you off though the game itself is fantastic.

The story is great, the game is true to the film, and there is plenty of action, some fun weapons to get hold of which is even more fun when you unlock unlimited ammo. Another fun moment with the game is that you can hire hit men to join you to help you complete missions. Bank jobs etc. This game is fun and can be enjoyed time and time again ... the reason the 4 stars is because they could have took the time to improve the graphics evne though this doesnt effect the actual game it still would have been nice to see.

               What a game!

I was gutted when I finished this corker of a game. I still have a Godfather hangover as nothing else in my collection comes close. Once I got into it I was hooked and spent a month playing nothing else. From slapping around club owners demanding a slice of their profits to throwing corrupt cops off rooftops it's just amazing entertainment. The side missions (performing hits and favours) are fantastic as well and frequently hilarious. Getting bonus points for tossing a crime boss into a burning oven (using Sixasis motion sensing no less!) just adds to the value. I can't rate this game highly enough. I spent 50 hours on it taking over all of New York. Driving is fun, shooting is great and setting people on fire with molotov cocktails never gets old. Each aspect of the gameplay is wonderfully conceived. Highly, highly recommended. Please buy it - this game deserves an audience. Cheers.

               Highly recommended - Excellent

I have several PS3 games. All of those come recommended and all I like. But Since I brought Godfather I have not played anything else. Is excellent.... although be warned - can get addictive! :)
