You aren't a soldier. You are a weapon.

A mysterious paramilitary force infiltrates a multi-billion dollar aerospace compound, taking hostages but issuing no demands. A Special Forces team is sent in by the government to contain the situation, but contact is severed as an eerie signal interrupts radio communications. When the interference subsides moments later, the team has been obliterated. Live footage of the massacre shows an inexplicable wave of destruction tearing the soldiers apart before they can even react.

In light of the desperate situation the F.E.A.R. team is assembled. As part of this elite classified strike force created to deal with the most unusual and shocking of threats, your mission is simple: Eliminate the intruders at any cost. Determine the origin of the signal and contain this crisis before it spirals out of control.

I read a few reviews on this game, all of which were good. Lets just say the people who wrote them should be sacked. This game sucks big time. It took all of 5 minutes to realise that this game was not worth £5 yet alone £40. Needless to say I took it back and exchanged it. For a next gen console this game has poor graphics, juddery controls, the fire button has a delay when pressing it, it's repetitive (Same clowns jumping about that seem to take a whole magazine to die). There are bugs in the programme which causes it to pause for a split second. As for being scarey, I've been more scared watching playbus. A very dissapointing game for the PS3. Don't waste your money!

Graphics = 9
Visualy this game is stunning! I've played my fair share of FPS titles ant I've seen all the little graphical trickery that developers try to use to make their game better than the competition, but this is by far the best I've seen. It's virtualy impossible for me to explain why here and still have room for the other aspects of the game, so you'll just have to take my word for it.

Sound = 7
The sound on this game doesn't have the quality feel to back up the visials. The voice acting is good, but the quality of the recordings is a little under par. Sound effercts are good. Explosions in-game cause temperary deafness (again, in-game), which fades away, just like it would in reality. But the radio conversations aren't clear enough to be usefull, especialy dureing action sequences. It's almost impossible to hear them dureng a full on gunfight.

Gameplay = 7
For a PC-to-Console conversion, this is pretty good. But the controls are a little difficult. For example; the auto aim is virtualy none existant, there's suposed to be some kind of "lock-on" feature but I've never noticed it, and for some unknown reason "primary fire" is assighned to "R2" instead of the usual "R1" in most FPS title on PS3, this can couse a big problem if you've just picked it up after playing another title.

Load Times = 4
Loading is bad. This game is supposed to install a portion on the HDD, which in turn should make loading a short inconvinience. Wrong! This game suffers from awfull loading times, for instance, I actualy thought my PS3 had locked up at one point. It's not as if its loading is spread out either, it loads extremely often. I'm unsure as to "why" this game puts data on the HDD but it seems pointless to me.

F.E.A.R. could be a "5 Satr" title, but falls short due to the "fumbly" controls and awfull loading times. I'd only recomend this to people who tried it and liked it, on any of the other formats, but for some reason they can't play it on one of them. This game is a "Hi-End" PC title, through and through.

The game recieved a lot of hype and I expected a lot perhaps too much and when I played the game I was disapointed. The graphics were good but I expected to go round blasting all the bad guys like in fall of man but the bad guys all look the same and i got bored after only a few hours. The only thing that did catch my eye though was the intelligence of the enemy which was pretty good. A bad guy shot me jumped through a window shot me again and then jumped back out. All in all though the game was a poor effort

This game tosses you into 11 different chapters of bloody, bullet-blasting violence, and it's awesome, thanks in large part to the controls of F.E.A.R. You can adjust the controller's sensitivity until it's just right, the scheme is easy to pick up and the mix of stealth and run-and-gun is perfect. F.E.A.R.'s gameplay is great, and it's what keeps you coming back for more. One minor downfall of this game is of course the graphics not realy a great change from the pc version, and considering what console it is on it is a bit of a dissapointment. However an increadible A.I system will ensure that the game is prolonged and challanging coupled with a chilling and imersive storyline it makes for a pretty awsome single player campaign. But when you feel like you've done all you can fragging the bots, F.E.A.R. multiplayer is ready to go with deathmatch, team, elimination and capture the flag modes as well as leaderboards to track your rise to online superstardom. I got to go at it in a few of the 11 playable maps, and all of the elements that make F.E.A.R. gameplay great were there. The game moved seamlessly as bullets flew, folks ran in and out of buildings and flags were exchanged.
