Joytech HDMI TriLink Switcher (PS3)

I bought this device to link between my 12 month old Sony Bravia (KDL-32V2000) a Sky HD box and a PS3. The box works excellently well with no (and I mean no) loss in picture or sound quality, and I am only using standard cables (albeit quite short 1.5M). The fact is the picture quality should be excellent coz the digital technolog works on an all or nothing principle, unlike analogue which is subject to losses and interference.

I came close to paying nearly 3 times the price for a similar product but I am so glad I found this. Its much smaller and easy to hide out the way than the other switchers I have seen coz it comes with an added remote sensor. Believe me, this device is as good and if not better than the other HDMI switchers (given the huge price difference) on the market. Cant recommend this product enough.

My only critisism is that the HDMI sockets are quite close together so people using expensive cables with large plugs may struggle to locate them side by side.

Please be aware that their is another fundatmental design issue and hidden cost not explained in the product description!!!

You must have at least TWO HDMI cables to use this device! (an input and an output). i.e. To connect my PS3 I need a HDMI cable to connect to the Switcher and another to connect the switcher to the TV.

No HDMI cables are included in the package so if you don't have a spare already then you need to buy one.

The low score is for Joytech's poor design (they should include a cable or incorporate one in the design) and Play.com's poor marketing (not expalining this).

Works when switched to the PS3, but my Samsung LCD just says "No signal" when switched to SkyHD input. I bought high quality cables so either its a defective unit or it just doesn't work with SkyHD

bought this for my samsung tv to conect sky hd and ps3, works brilliantly, sky hd has to be plugged into the number 1 socket on the tri link

I have bought this unit and must say I'm well pleased. Very easy to switch between signals, no loss of quality, and a small convenient design makes it easy to tuck behind my display unit.

Complaints here lowering the score due to 'lack of information' on the need for an extra HDMI cable are just totally silly! Logic would tell you that you'd need an extra cable to 'output' the input HDMI's to your TV set! As far as doing the job it's set to do, this box is magic. SIMPLE! Find another unit that does the job for 30 quid!
