Key to PES 2008 is a proprietary adaptive A.I. system entitled Teamvision - an advanced A.I. programming that learns and adapts according to an individual's style of play. Teamvision will build attacks and counter specific movements such as previous attacks or defensive errors, ensuring games are more in line with the real thing. Set-pieces have been improved with the addition of a number of new options, including full control over the number of players and the position of the defensive wall.
With the Pro Evolution Soccer series renowned for its fluid, realistic gameplay, PES 2008 builds on the implementation of Teamvision with additional key advances The new A.I. ensures that defenders work to close down space and block efforts on goal, with shot timing still left entirely down to the player. Close control has also been enhanced when dribbling the ball, and a number of subtle moves added to bypass defenders and move the ball into space.
Player detail has been taken to incredible levels in the next-gen versions with full facial animation and the high-definition detail afforded by the hardware used to show full movement and subtle details.

Poor for Pro Evo standards, but still the best footie sim.

Having been a dedicated pro evo fan from the times of iss pro 98 i was really looking forward to the next gen version of the best footie game around. However when i started playing it i noticed quite a few too many flaws for my liking. The graphics are are drab at best and the presentation was woeful. However this is nothing new to the series as the gameplay always shone through. While the mechanics are the same as previous versions the game did not make even the slightest step up to try and improve anything. The frame rate is appalling especially during replays where the game just chugs along and goalkeepers seem to have their hands covered in butter for even the most simple shots on goal.
Even the variety of game modes is limited and there are very few stadia to even play in and very few game modes. (Don't even bother trying to play online as it is unplayable at times)
A major let down for the series, it seems almost incomplete in my opinion but still my preferred choice over fifa.
Pro Evo all the way

This games has got a lot of criticism, however in my opinion it still greatly exceeds fifa 2008, they gameplay is so much faster and the players are so much sharper.Admittedly it is unfortunate that konami could not buy the right.I have fifa 2008 and pes 2008 and have hardly touched fifa since buying pes because of the speed of the game and the gameplay.lookin forward to the new pes comin out soon, Im my opinion without doubt still the best fooball game around
easy and fun

Ok this is like soul caliber 4 vs teken 5 for ps3
Fifa is like soul caliber cause you cant just pick it up and be good at it it takes time
But in this you just buy it and its your first football game and you can find it easy and fun like i did with tekan
PAL: Will play on UK and European Playstation3 only | |
