Ive ever played. I work at a game shop and decided to purchase this game as it was pretty cheap for one reason or another. Wasnt expecting much/anything of it, but once i got the hang of the controls, and got a few levels into the game, i was blown away.

The game play is alot of fun, and seriously scary/thrilling. Some of the levels its like watching a movie, it can make you jump out of your skin.

You get to do csi and get rated out of 5 for how well you desect a crime seen. The fighting is some what entertaining with combos and many objects of use for combat! And once you stun the enemy enough, you can use the environment around you to "finish them".

Not too many flaws in this game. There are some such as the shooting is slightly crap and aiming etc but the good stuff just out weighs the bad on a ration of 100:1 :) great game!

After reading all the previews/reviews before its release I became very excited about this title and I bought it the day it came out. I got home and slipped it into my beloved PS3, closed the curtains, turned on my 1080i HD 47" LCD TV, cranked up my 5:1 Dolby Digital Cinema System and prepared to s**t myself. However, the first thing that struck me was a horrible clicking sound and momentary losses of sound throughout the game. I tried to ignore this and carried on with the game but it just completely ruined the atmosphere the creators were trying to portray. It also seemed to be very monotonous the way I seemed to just walk around punching odd looking creatures which all seemed quite aimless. I thought I gave it more than a fair chance but i'm afraid it got put back in my cupboard and forgotten about until recently when I decided to give it another chance. Well, i'm glad i did! Before the game loaded I was presented with an update. I thought it would be the usual kind where you sit there for half an hour waiting for an update to download, only to find that it hasn't made a blind bit of difference to the game. Wrong.... this update had completely sorted the sound issues out and has transformed the game completely. Other than that, as you progress through the game it gets more and more interesting with some great forensic investigations to solve and it's ten times more scary. This is where a good Dolby Digital system really comes alive, creating sound around you that genuinely has you looking in the direction that it came from because you want to know WHAT THE HELL IT WAS!!! I havn't finished it yet, mainly because the Mrs. moans like hell when I have my PS3 on and I don't like playing it when i'm on my own in the house coz it's scary as hell! But i love it. Well recommended, especially to those who own and really appreciate a quality home cinema system as this is what they are deigned for.

i think the person reviewing this below needs to take a trip to his nearest optician if he honestly thinks the graphics are like summit off the sega megadrive. graphics are great! game is great. yeah its not as good as the first one and no where near as mad as the first 1 but its still a good game. a welcome edition to the horror genre of gaming!

Customer rating: 1 out of 5 stars dont bother

really looking forward to this game when it came out, the hype seemed fantastic, but when i played it i was so dissapointed, the graphics seem to come of the old sega mega drive and the game play is rubbish. really must be the worst game i have played.

Customer rating: 5 out of 5 stars It's what you can't see that scares you.

Very few film or game makers understand the above phrase and sadly think people are scared by huge monsters or severed limbs and bucket loads of blood and guts. So when a horror game or film comes along that makes use of sound, lighting and ambience in the right way it's massively refreshing. This game does what you want any horror game to (although sadly few do...) it unnerves you and has you feeling reluctant to move forward further into the game world. And the best part is it does it all without in your face monsters and ridiculous amounts of gore, in fact the game's biggest strength is that it doesn't show the player too much, it doesn't offer an explanation for everything it leaves much to the imagination and is all the better for it. Another positive is the way the game and its story positions itself in a grey area between the realistic and the supernatural causing the player to question whether or not theres actually anything unexplainable going on or not.
Then theres gameplay itself, the game focuses massively on close-quarters-combat and the variety and peculiarity of the melee weapons available makes more for some entertaining scraps.
Theres also the CSI style forensics aspect which is a nice touch and breaks up the combat moments in the game well.
Overall a truly brilliant and disturbing horror FPS.

This game has an excellent gameplay story to keep you entertained for the whole game. Some levels are scary as hell but WOW this game is great. The story of the game just makes you want to keep going to find out what happens next, and to be honest it is challenging because depending on the difficulty setting you choose you take a lot of damage when fighting. the forensics and investigation side missions are great and you get bonus's and rewards for how well you do, like extra health and more damaging punches ect.

I got this game because i'd played the original and loved it and I really wanted the 2nd. I wasnt dissapointed!!! Everything is perfect, the atmosphere, the brutality and the CSI style to it, when you have make decisions based on the evidence youve gathered. Yes online is a bet sketchy and isnt amazing but the actual game itself is a masterpiece of eerie levels, and the chiil you get down your spine going into a different area. BUY THIS GAME!

Got the game thinking fanastic, the first one was awsome this one is going to be mint, well I fire up the tv, stick the surround sound on and what do I get, popping every 2 seconds, there is a major flaw in the game where on a lot of setups when using digital sound, there is dropout, it lessens as the game progresses, but it is still there, I have contacted Sega and all we get is "we are working on a solution", this seems to be the auto responce from them as I know of a lot of people who have contacted them, it is 2 months now and the 360 has already got a patch to fix problems, what do us ps3 users get nothing, if I were you I would stay clear until there is a patch(don't think it is coming to be truthful), Sega have really destroyed any faith I had in them.

For any ones saying this is not game breaking it is for me, I play my games loud in 7.1 and it totally removes me from the game, sound playes a big part in this game qand if it pops every two seconds it destroyes it.
