  NOT GREAT,BUT...

A very odd game this one,one minute you're running, then you're stomping crabs, then you're fighting sea monsters and then pushing prompted buttons to get the crew to row the boat and so forth.
I did find the HOLY RELIC bit very frustrating (til i realized it helps to get the spear at the beginning of that level, just to the right of the second slide and up the wall if i remember correctly).
So there were parts of the game i really wasn't impressed with, the controls are very weird to get the hang of in some levels, but i wouldn't say it is a really bad game, just one i was glad to complete and get on with another.
If you like odd,you might like this, don't expect brilliant and you might just get a surprise,or you might well hate it. I admit i did almost give up several times. Sorry if this isn't the best of help, but it really is a very strange game to get your head around.
All in all,i didn't hate it,but i certainly didn't love it.

  Pretty Good!

This game really isnt that bad. You can get your hands on it for around 3 quid these days. And it will provide you with hours of fun.
Well put it this way i purchased this, completed it and am giving it 4/5 mainly because i got it for like 3.50... So in perspective of games that cost 40 quid... think about it.
The storyline is based on obviously the film, then battles are pretty cool and you have a bunch of Thanes to follow you and quite a variety of weapons to choose from to use, personal favourite being the legendary sword and shield.
Like i say you can get your hands on it for around the same price as a pint of beer. recommend as long as your getting it for cheap. Not worth over a fiver.

I got this game about a week ago, i first had time to play it last night. The first level is so boring and annoying. But after that it isnt bad atall, yes the graphics aren't great and the gameplay is very repetative but its £10! And for that you cant complain at all.

  Not great

Got this as part of a package with the ps3 and got to say its not that great. Game play is ok but gets boring very quickly as it gets very repetitive.

As for the graphics I think there poor. In the opening clip scene of the game showing the men down by the beach in the water, they are standing on top of the sea which just makes the game look rushed. This is a little thing I know but never the less this lack of attention to detail is mirrored through out the game. Also for a game which I am playing in 1080P the graphics look grainy and not that great.

Not overly impressed so far hope the next game I get is a lot better.

Game 5/10
Graphics 5/10
Audio 6/10

Overall 5.5/10

did really enjoy the film, but was skeptical about the game purely as its a film game, but i actually think this game is brilliant! the music and atmos is superb and the fighting and wrestling style really makes you feel it!! great game in my opionion!!

First time i played this i turned it off after 10 minutes. If you get past the dodgy first level its an ok. Its shows you another side to the film, and you really cant complain for £10

  Give it a chance...

If you only play the first level of this game you are bound to walk away with a bad impression, i almost did. Just persavere for an hour or so and the game will really pick up. The combat is quite simple really but some of the battles can be good fun, especially when you're trying to score combos to boost your thaines. Very nice graphics to btw. Although a bit repetative i think its ok overall. Definately a good one for kids but even me, a 25 year old enjoyed it and im quite a serious gamer. This is by no means an amazing game but well worth about £15 id say.

  Like Film, Like Game

I got this game for christmas and although it didn't take long to finish the fact that the game has alternate cut-scenes and endings means that you can play again but with a very different style.
The game expands on what is seen in the film and because of the game's good graphics and fantastic atmosphere you really get the feeling of being Beowulf (which can be addictive when your cutting through armies or wrestling massive demons single handedly).
The combat system is realistic and has a lot of attention to detail and allows the player freedom to choose their fighting style and what kind of leader to be. Heroic King or Fearsome Monster Slayer.
One thing that really impressed me was how well the music responds to the situation on screen. Music plays an important part in the game and really gives the game that cinematic feel.
MY ADVICE IS: If you like the film or are looking for an epic adventure then get the game.

Got this game last a few days ago, have to say its alot better than I thought it was gong to be, esp at this great price for a PS3 game, looks good and plays well, can be tricky in places but this provides a good challange, buy this for something different
