Feel what it's like to be a field general making key personnel decisions on both sides of the ball during the game's biggest moments in Madden NFL 08. Quickly identify your strongest players on the field before every snap then move them into position to make game-changing, momentum-altering plays. Play to your team's strengths by immediately reading your opponent's schemes and reacting to the action as soon as the ball is snapped. Create mismatches and exploit weaknesses as you read and react with Madden NFL 08.

All-New Read and React System: New player skill icons identify on-field strengths and weaknesses, providing an immediate read on what your opponent is giving you. Quickly react, create mismatches, and exploit opponent weaknesses before every play.

All-New Front Office Mode: Take full control of every aspect of an NFL franchise. Construct a state-of-the-art stadium, set concession prices, hire your coaching staff, draft players, and manage the entire operation from the top down to build your dynasty.

Your Ring of a Champion: Increase your Madden Gamer Level to help create and customize your own in-game championship ring.

Madden Unmatched: All-new player moves, including auto-motion, backward passes and low-hitting tackles, plus ultra-smooth gameplay provide the most realistic NFL gaming experience ever. Control receivers and make spectacular catches or key possession receptions, or roam the secondary and jar the ball loose with big hits and ball-stripping tackles.

       Disappointing

Madden NFL is the must have game for me every year and thus far none of the next gen versions have really lived up to expectation. This is no different, the game is ruined by bad frame rate, lack of decent commentry/presentation and the little things like having no referees on the pitch, dodgy looking players on the sidelines, aweful looking fans and an invisible net that stops the ball hitting the fans when kicking field goals. But the most annoying part of the game is the ammount of turnovers, especially online (which lags quite badly when playing against players in the US) you can see up to 12 turnovers in the game, every time you snap the ball the chance of your running back fumbling or your quarterback throwing an interception are high. Overall I've given in 3 stars because it has it's moments but if you're a hardcore fan that gets bugged by the little things, chances are you'll be angry by EAs poor attempt yet again. Bring back the days when EA didn't have the exclusive NFL licence so 2K games can show you what a real NFL game plays out like

       Definately worth a dabble!

I was really impressed with this game, easy gameplay, good graphics.

There are glitches that have been mentioned, mainly the players on the sidelines.

However some of the new features, such as the create a superstar are superb, and the game itself moves a lot like a real nfl game, its almost as if your watching sky sports 1 at 11pm on a Sunday night!

great online, but a bit disappointed.

I've always been a fan of nfl games, and was looking forward to getting this one on ps3. However i didn't find the graphics up to ps3 standard, they seem a little blocky (a bit ps2 ish). Also the realism isn't there- the off- field camera people and line men- you can run through them!!!!- I'm sorry unacceptable for ps3 standard. Online is good fun- but then it's a sports game so that isn't a hard thing to achieve.

Every year i cant wait for the next addition of Madden, this year was no diffrent.
The problem with this game is turnovers.......its so frustrating, as a RB you can run up the gut take one hit and the next thing you know the CPU has the ball in your Endzone!
Also Drones on the sidelines are lame, and players seem to run through walls when celebrating TDs!

The only reason i rate this at 3 stars is cause of the online play, which i have to say is alot of fun

Good but not for the casual gamer

      Top 100 Games Reviewer

This is a good title. Graphics and flow are what you would expect from any EA title. If you only know the basic rules for american football then this game takes some practice. There are loads and loads of different plays to learn and then a lot of extras whne on offense and defence. It is a good game if you persist and learn all the plays and extra moves available but I question whether the serious (particularlly UK games player) would have the patience for this.
