This game is not just for kids, my boyfriend and I bought it on a whim because it was on sale and it's the most fun we've had playing multiplayer on PS3. The cut scenes are hilarious and knocking the heads off your fellow lego men with your lighsaber never fails to amuse. There's lots to unlock and you can also create your own character to use in free play mode. It has far more playability than the official games of the films in my opinion and is a breath of fresh air amongst all the first person shooters currently available for this console, many of which are fantastic graphically but lacking in gameplay (not counting Call of Duty 4, which is definitely an exception).
I'm giving this game 5 stars as it takes gaming back to what it should be all about - fun!!

Just immense fun to play.. Ok so the game is aimed squarely at the childrens market but there really is something for everyone in here. The humour is just spot on, the character models are superb, the level design is perfect. The game has massive replay value too as you really will want to complete all minikits within the game and unlock all the characters!
Just a superb game and one i keep going back to!

Top 10 Games Reviewer
I owned both Lego star wars 1 and 2 on the PS2 I played and completed both with a friend and enjoyed every minute of it. So why buy this version?
Well for a starters it's cheaper than buying the 2 separate (new that is) the graphics are smoother, levels have been re worked, new characters, and some extra content has been added.
So let's get one thing straight you are defiantly getting value for money here, 6 episodes, 6 levels each roughly 15minutes per level (not including having to play through them again to unlock bonuses) (oh and the time trials) (Double oh and all the extras)= one hell of a long, fun and funny game.
The game is a very basic platform game, jump there, destroy there, use the force here, but it's the little quirks that make it fun ... like starting showers to make flowers grow then destroying them to revel pieces of a car that can be put together, or using the force to set up a disco so storm troopers can party on down. It's these little puns that make the game unique. And there are a lot of them.
Each character in the game has the own unique moves and purpose, Droids, bounty hunters, storm troopers each activate their own control panels (some can fly) other characters can jump higher than others, some can sneak past all kinds of enemy fire, some can throw grenades and the Jedi's can use the force. You can also use any character within the game to play through any level once complete to help unlock all those extras.
Like I said earlier some levels have been redesigned but if you prefer the original levels don't worry. The levels that have been changed, the original versions of those levels can be unlocked and are playable. But trust me after playing the new versions on the complete saga you will wonder how the hell you managed to get through them in the original games.
Another add on to the game is episodes 1 to 3 now have all the bonuses the original trilogy was given, such as bounty missions etc and there has been another Lego world added to play through.
I can't really see many if any major faults in this game there is loads for you to work trough, you can play as all most every character in the star wars universe and use practically every vehicle. To complete the game 100% you do have to play through more than once and will make the game seem a bit repetitive however this can unlock new areas within levels and bring new challenges to light. This game is value fro money and deserves the 5 stars I'm giving it.
great

this is an epic game. even though it is just 2 origional games put together with a few extra levels, it is by far one of the most entertaining games.

Brilliant game and well worth the money. Played it all as two player and had fun all the way through. Graphics are great, funny cut aways and lots of different levels and missions to keep you entertained. Even when you think you have finished the game you realise there are loads more things to do like the Bounty Hunter Missions and bonus rounds.
Will keep you entertained for hours, not too serious and a good laugh.

What a game, as a massive Star wars fan and having Brought and played many other Star Wars titles, i can honestly say this is one of the best made and i've been hooked ever since popping the disc into my Ps3.
There is so much to do and the charm of how the game has been put together gives for hours and hours of fun. The gameplay is simple and easy to get to grips with, this is not a game that will be completed in 5hrs like other titles out there and as mentioned before, even after the story mode is completed there are so many other modes such as freeplay, and super story mode to keep you hooked, that and all the unlockables to break, you will be playing this game for months to come.
the graphics are ace to and although this is not pushing the Ps3 to its limits they fit very well the story and had me laughing with each and every cut scene.
Recomended for Kids and Adults alike, even a big kid of 24 and At this price, what a steel! unlike the £49 i paid for other games only to complete them that same day!
5 Star Game but EXACTLY the same as the two PS2 games!

These Lego Star War games are the absolute bomb! I've NEVER been so addicted to a game in my whole life and that's coming from a 26 year old woman who's never played with lego or watched the Star Wars films (don't hate me lol) It's super easy to play with some puzzle work thrown in. The graphics are fantastic and the little film clips are hilarious. You really will get hours and hours of play out of this game!
BUT
If you bought the 2 games for the PS2, I'd think twice about buying it for the PS3. I was TOTALLY disappointed as its exactly the same levels - you have to defeat the same people/complete the same level as the first two games.
There are new bits and pieces thrown in but really not enough to get excited about.
I really hope Lego come out with more games like LOTR or Harry Potter or something! Something to get excited about!
Have fun!
A tounge-in-cheek look at the Star Wars universe

For those who haven't had the pleasure of playing a Lego Star Wars game before, allow me to fill you in. It's a simple yet enjoyable platformer/puzzler that takes a cheeky slant on the Star Wars universe. As the name suggests it covers the complete saga from episodes 1-6, and is basically just a compilation of the original games on the PS2.
The game is absolutely ideal for kids (although very enjoyable for adults too!). The gameplay is very forgiving, (when you die you respawn almost instantly at a small penalty of studs, the collectable item in the game), the cutscenes are humerous and the puzzles not too tricky. There are over 160 characters with a range of different abilities - Jedi can use the force to manipulate objects, droids can open locked doors and standard force-less characters have a hookshot that can be used to reach different platforms. There are a large variety of collectable items in addition to the studs, such as Power Bricks and MiniKit pieces which more often than not are not obtainable on the first play through. Instead the level must be replayed in 'Free-Play' mode where any character can be used, adding to the longevity of the game. Studs can be redeemed at the shop to unlock additional characters, extras and gold bricks, and gold bricks unlock hidden levels.
Overall, if you have the previous two games then don't bother with this, but if you haven't then it's a pleasant breath of fresh air from the oversaturated FPS market, and it's well worth adding to your collection.
Fantastic, addictive fun and great lego graphics
