Had no problems connecting it, the PS3 saw it immediatly, although it doesn't show anything to inform you of the connection, you just have to try to type some text to know if it works or not. The keyboard of the keypad is UK based, so if your keyboard settings are those of another country you have to set your keyboard to English UK so that you can digit what's on the button. The plastic piece that joins the joypad and the keypad is tricky to remove once set, so you have 3 choices:
1) Always on.
2) Remove the keypad but not the support and depending on whether the game you are playing has text chat or not put it on.
3) Remove all and use it detached.

Pros:

-The added weight is not much and doesn't bother playing.
-Extremely faster than the on-screen keyboard. But if you don't keep it on the joypad it will be less efficient, having to switch between the two.
-Takes little space on your living room coffee table.

Cons:

-The big soft plastic buttons, especially those on the sides that are slightly rotated, makes typing clumsy, you often end up pressing two of them, and having to press two buttons together to delete makes this annoying (i would have liked a single button to delete the last digit). Having just bought this item, i'm sad to say that the official PS3 keypad with his had plastic buttons looks more efficient.
-No batteries included (i use rechargeable for great convenience).
