Experience the ultimate team-based and mission-based multiplayer warfare, defined by award winning Return to Castle Wolfenstein Multiplayer, now set in the legendary Quake universe. Choose to play as the human Global Defence Force or the invading alien menace, the Strogg. Each side has distinct classes, vehicles, and weapons to choose from, giving players countless ways to join the battle.

Intense Mission-Based Combat: Quake Wars pits teams against each other on massive maps located in desert, arctic and tropical environments. Players battle through intense skirmishes with real military style objectives.

Offline and Online Modes: Hone your skills against surprisingly lifelike A.I. offline, then join the battle online with friends.

Unique Teams and Character Classes: The GDF and Strogg are two distinct armies with different soldier classes, weapons, vehicles and tactics. Enjoy a modern military style of play with the GDF, or wield unearthly alien technology with the Strogg.

Team-Based Combat: Using class specific skills, players can be the linchpin of an entire operation. Players are rewarded for working together as a team to accomplish mission objectives.

Upgradeable Capabilities and Statistics: Over the course of a multi-mission campaign, players earn experience and promotions, and gain new skills to help the team. In addition, stats are globally recorded for players to track their rank and prestige in the Enemy Territory community.

Broad Accessibility: Quake Wars goes beyond providing basic tips for new players. It also features several innovation that open the game to a broader audience, including the Solo Assignment System which automatically assigns players individual missions, so new entrants always know what they need to do. Quake Wars also includes Skill-Based Matchmaking which allows players to have the perfect challenge in every online game.

Megatexture Technology: id Software, known for games using cutting-edge technology, has done it again. The revolutionary Megatexture technology allows battlefields to extend to the horizon, with over a square mile of unique terrain at unprecedented detail.

Late reviews hide yet another PS3 disappointment

Once again, a much hyped game has been revealed to be little more than an unplayable mess. After Haze, it all seems a bit too much to bear. What was a decent team class shooter on PC had immense potential on PS3 provided the graphics and controls received the necessary tweaks and improvements. They didn't. Gun selection only allows you to advance forward, so if you miss your choice, tough - you have to track through the whole lot again. Auto aim is excessive to the point of irritation. Graphics are not much better. Muddy, messy and sometimes clipping with the weight of a frequently chugging framerate. Combine this with fundamental lag issues online and you have a frankly unplayable mess. Don't get suckered in by the hype. Avoid this mess and play more competent titles such as COD4, Rainbow Six 2, Team Fortress 2, etc. At the end of the day, it says a lot that the reviews were nowhere to be seen one day before release. This is a travesty and PS3 owners ought to vote with their cash. Say no to poor releases. Say no to hype. Developers, please respect the market. We won't accept mediocrity.

             Not that good really.

This was my first dip in to the quake universe since the very first Quake on the PC way back when.

            I was very dissapointed.
The graphics are ok, the game play is rubbish, the online mode is slow.

            Don't bother with this.

             Terrible Game

Another great human vs. strogg battle but abit more technical. For people who like fast shooter action with abit of thinking about what your acturly up to in the mists of war. Great insight to new tactics you wont see anywhere else. Don't let the tactics put you off once your in the action is exteamly fast and grousem.
