Race Driver: Grid is all about the race - that period from lights to flag; full of tension, pressure, noise, and action.
Grid will take players to beautifully realised and dramatic race locations over three continents to compete in an unprecedented variety of racing events. Packed with the most powerful race cars - new and classic, circuit and drift - players will compete to conquer the most prestigious official race tracks and championships and then go beyond to compete in challenging city-based competitions, through to road events and urban street races.
In Europe, race gamers will compete on the greatest official tracks in prestige Marques including Aston Martin, Koenigsegg and Pagani. Iconic cities across the U.S. - including San Francisco, Washington DC and Detroit and each with their own atmosphere and events - play hosts to diverse street races. In the Far East, Japanese racing culture sets the tone where night races, including Drift racing, take drivers through neon illuminated cities and to outlying mountain roads.

My main gripe with the Gran Turismo series of games is the lack of car damage (and personally I'm more of an 'arcade' than a 'simulation' racer). This game fills the gap between GT and the Burnout series of games which has, in my view, leaned too far towards being a 'sandbox style' game (vis-a-vis GTA). A thoroughbred racer with well designed tracks (most virtual representations of real life circuits) and all the cars that I as a young boy used to dream of driving (now lumbered with a Vauxhall Corsa - practical but without punch - there's a reason that didn't make the cut for this game!). If you want a solid racing game that provides a multitude of different styles (Track, Drift, Formula and Derby) this is the one for you. None of the nonsense of having to drive around looking for a race and a lot easier to get to grips with when all you want to do is start having fun - the best all-round next-gen racing game released to date marred only by the lack of split-screen multiplayer.
I found this game annoyingly unrealistic. You could literally fly around corners and by the 3rd corner you were in the lead and you could crash about 6 times before the other racers could catch up. The handling on the cars is so unrealistic you barely have to break to go round corners and was very violent, like you move the anolouge stick to the left and your car has violently swerved off course. Ok i did like the damage which Gran Turisimo doesen't have but there is an update for it soon and i find myself picking stunning graphics, realistic driving experience over damage on cars. Gran Turisimo is far better, much more realistic, this is more of a casual gamer type of game where as Gran Turisimo is more of a simulator for the true gamer who wants a real racing game that is realistic. DEMO BASED REVIEW, but i dought the real game will be any better.
This is the best racing game i have played ,love the drifting comps and freestyle drifting.
Loads to do on this game ,muscle cars, touring cars build a career, sign sponsors, and drivers highly recommended, very addictive game
