Assassin's Creed

Hello to all those gamers who wet themselfs over good graphics! this is the game for you, because it does have stunning graphics and admittdly nothing else comes close at the moment.HOWEVER!!!! the tasks your asked to do at the start are sooo boring and repetitive climbing up walls to get viewpoints all the time-UUHHHH. But it is a tactical game and for some thats what they enjoy but this is not one for someone who enjoys an intense fighting game and plenty of intense nerve racking times.

i don't care if everyone disagrees with me i just want to warn people of the flaws with this game. Idea sounds AMAZIN but for me a little bit of a let down.

this should have been a classic game that everyone had to own, it isnt.
The good points are the graphics are really amazing and stunning in HD. That is it.
The bad points are everywhere, the story is awful, instead of being an assassin in medieval times you play as an ancestor through your memories of when they used to be an assassin.
The levels are all exactly the same and not one of them changes. It is quite pssible the most linear game in history.
The attack system is the same as that from pirates of the carribean in that you push a button when someone is about to attack you to counter it and push a button to attack them!
Also there are 9 assassinations, no multi-player or online and the only other thing to do in the whole game is help civilians and find flags.
You can complete it in about 6 or 7 hours, and the story "twist" youy can see froma mile off, i worked it out before i had done the forth assassination. Also there is no need to plan anything if you run towards the guy you have to kill, no matter how many million of enemies attack you you can kill them all. Because they attack you ONE AT A TIME, so this makes the games stupidly easy aswell.
Also the character you play is possibly one of the most unpleasant main characters in any game ever. This would have been average on Ps2. but for PS3 it's CRAP and most certainly the most overated overhyped game of all time!

Below is a list of tasks which you can perform in Assassin's Creed:

1. Save a citizen - Kill a bunch of baddies.
2. Vantage points - Climb up a tower and press triangle.
3. Eavesdrop - Sit on a bench and press triangle.
4. Pick pocket - Follow someone and press circle.
5. Interrogation - Follow someone and punch them three times.
6. Flag collection - Collect a bunch of flags.
and finally 7. Actual assassination's - Walk up to the bad guy and press square.

These 7 tasks make up 90% of the gameplay in Assassin's Creed, the rest is running around and a plethora of unskippable cutscenes.

The game structure is as follows:

Go to one of three strikingly similar cities, listen to some guy witter on in the assasin's bureau, complete a few of the tasks described above, most of which are duplicates (i.e. two eavesdropping missions with what looks like the exact same guy both times), then go off and stab the bad guy, listen to his dying words (all 3000 of them), run back to the assasin's bureau (where the same guy will witter on a bit more), then return home to have your master give you an overly cryptic and melodramatic speech about your role as an assassin. Repeat three times for each city(!) and then enjoy the stupid climax.

As you can probably tell, the game is way too repetitive and eventually becomes boring. Even the people on the street say the same things over and over. You'll often hear a man preaching about god at the top of his lungs, then later you'll here another guy who repeats the exact same dialogue, WORD FOR WORD. It's like the guys at Ubisoft blew the budget on advertising and fuelling their hype machine, Halo 3 styley, then fleshed out the game by copying and pasting gameplay that you can experience in the first hour or so. It's as if the gameplay itself was an afterthought and for that reason, 2 stars is being generous.

I started playing this game and I thought wow this is just amazing the game is stunning and it's so much fun to play.

This game treats you to some stunning scenery you run around looking for the highest building to climb just so you can admire the view.

The action and fighting in the game is easy to get into something for some reason I thought was going to be complicated. You can get into some nice fast paced fighting and pull off some really nice finishing moves.

There are also plenty to keep busy such as informant tasks, pick pocket targets, citizens to save, structures to climb, flags to collect, and crusaders to kill.

HOWEVER (and this is where people will disagree with me) the game is very repetitive to the point where I just got bored. Now to be fair the reason I feel this way is partly to do with me buying and starting to play something else and by the time I got back to playing Assassins creed I just couldn't be bothered. I only have 3 missions to do and I've tried to sit and force my way to the end but I just can't get back into it because I get bored within an hour playing it.

Another thing that bugged me a bit was you're an assassin; your job is to blend in and kill quickly and quietly without being seen. But (unless I was doing something wrong) you approach and kill your main targets in the open in front of loads of people meaning you have to escape and leg it back to your hideout... not very stealthy

If I stuck at this game all the way through without straying I might have a given a more positive review but sadly I can.

Overall there is a lot of fun to be had with this game at first but it is very repetitive but if you can stick with it you're getting a really enjoyable and beautiful looking game

i was excited about this game and yes it is a good game. But after a while it becomes boring i am still playing it and i cant play it no more than a hour. Maybe because its a lttle repetative. Its a shame that such a good game can be a little let down. Loads of people love it and i dont know how they complete it less than 8hours i am well ova that limit and i love completing games for fun. Not assains creed though it is just draging time out of me and the only reason i am still playin it, is because i want to complete it.

The graphics are amazing though....i think you should either buy drakes fortune or call of duty 4 which is the best game out so far.
