I started playing this game at 6pm and completed it by 8pm - yes folks - it's that easy. And that's the main problem - it's so incredibly easy - even on the hardest setting you'll go from start to finish in a couple of hours.

For a start the AI is terrible - you can pick your enemies off one after the other with little effort as they offer no resistance and don't use any cover. They'll either stand in open ground or run straight towards you and because they're already in your line of fire all you have to do is pull the trigger. They might as well be wearing a big flashing target that says "shoot me" and when you do shoot them they go down like they've been hit by a speeding freight train.

There are no secrets to unlock, no weapon upgrades, no vehicles to use, no single missions when you're a sniper or sent off on an objective on your own, no tasks to perform except plant the odd C4 charge or find a piece of power generator on the last level, no allies to rescue from captivity, no enemy strongholds to infiltrate or sabotage, no intel to gather, no character interaction, no anything! You CAN pick up stray weapons - but that's only if your not too busy trying to keep up with the rest of your squad.

The graphics aren't next-generation and the jungle levels are laughable. It's like being in an old Scooby-Doo cartoon where the scenery is on a loop and you find yourself running past the same trees and boulders over and over again like they couldn't be bothered to design different scenery for different parts in the game. You can even walk straight through some of the plants and vines like they're not there!

Call of Duty "World at War" will be all the things this game failed miserably at trying to be - a next-generation WW2 conflict in the Far East. The fact that this game is from Activision, the team behind the Call of Duty series makes you wonder why they even bothered putting out such a lame effort. C'mon guys - you can do better than this!

I'm a sucker for World War II games and all the mags and websites harp on about how there are hundreds of WWII games littering the shelves. Now I can only count 12! Now that;s hardly 'littering' the shelves.

World War II was a conflict that should never be forgotten and the events that occured during the duration of the war have only scratched the surface.

The gameplay is solid and the environments are lush. The game, set in the Pacific theatre of war is only the second of its kind for the Playstation, the first being 'Medal of Honor: Rising Sun'. The graphics are excellent, I'm not sure on the length, as I've only just started it. But from what I've played so far, it's a great game, nowhere in the same league as Call Of Duty 4, but with a price tag of just £24.99, you can't go wrong.
