Ok...I will start by saying this is the best football game on the market for the PS3 by far. They have improved the fluidity in the game play since 08 and also the passing is more accurate. I actually find it a little harder to score long range shots but volleys and spectacular goals are more regular.
I like the ability to choose your own celebration but after a while you will just skip through these.
I really wish they would add some nice touches. For instance water bottles and cameras behind the goal should fly all over if the ball hits them etc etc
Am giving this game 4 stars because unfortunately there is still slowdown when the penalty box gets crowded. pls sort this out EA and port this to FIFA 09 and you will have a world beater.
Great fun

Best footie game I have played and more realisted than Pro Evo as in tournaments. Only complaint is that every game I play the oposing goalkeeper gets man of the match. Even Paul Robinson!!
If FIFA 08 and PES2008 had a love-child....

As soon as i got this, i was amazed. The graphics were really good and my best mode is captain your country. I'm giving it 5 stars and I'm not even connected to the internet! If i had to give it a downside then it would have to be that the screen is zoomed out more. But as soon as you get used to it it's easier as you can see the players that are far away. If your saying this is bad, whats good?

.This is by far the best Football game out. The graphics are superb , the gameplay is amazing and I like doing the celebrations myself by moving around R3 And pressing L1. The online is great and captain your country is fun.( If you do captain your country choose a defender its the funnest ). If ever get bored do penalty shootout mode the goalkeepers dives are realistic and go Scotland there the best country in the world. You should buy this game if you play a lot of sports games.I cant wait for the finals ashame Scotland didnt get in.
Currently the best next-gen footie title

Well, like many others on here I'm a long term Pro Evo fan, but frankly PES2008 is simply not good enough and on principle I refuse to buy it. Likewise FIFA 08 is very pretty and has more options than ever, but that can't hide the fact that the gameplay is extremely dull. So, with my shiny black box I pined for a football game and after playing the demo to death I took the plunge and bought this one.
What a good choice. UEFA 2008 literally plays the beautiful game, the passing is spot on, players move and jostle for position realistically and it's possible to score some spectacular looking goals. I was worried that the lack of teams would limit the replay value but this is copmpounded by a wealth of options. Play the official Euro 2008 tournament and do what Steve McClaren couldn't and take England to the finals. Create yourself in game and play trhrough a career to eventually captain your country. Play online leagues and cups all the while representing your chosen nation with your exploits. Or play a selection of scenario's from the qualifying campaign and repeat or rewrite history.
There are, however, a few negative points I have. Firstly, although the game is officially licensed, some of the teams are not, most surprising of which is Holland and most dissapointingly (as a proud Welshman) Wales. Whatsmore, editing them is out of the question if you wish to play online as the game will automatically overwrite your data with the default giving you no options to save to a different slot. Graphically the game is very good, although the crowd are rubbish, simply cardboard cut-out pixels, the lack of quality is most evident in the intial overhead view of the stadium when they literally appear as flat, 2d models. Also, the goalkeepers on the game are very good, yet are prone to parrying and spilling the ball way to much. As a result they'll often save that screamer from 30 yards, only for the rebound to be a simple tap in. Unfortunately it happens a bit too frequently for my liking, especially when the CPU teams attack. And finally, when playing through the tournaments your players overall ratings fluctuate, which is fine, but there seems to be a bug in the game because more often than not they'll drop down and down, even if you're winning and they are playing well. I hope EA fixes this issue soon with a patch.
Overall though, niggles aside, this is the best next-gen football game currently available, it really feels like you're playing football. This serves as an excellent taster of what's in store for FIFA 09 and, much as it pains me to say it, if Konami don't get their act together for PES 2009 then it may well be game over for them in the football genre.
brilliant football game for ps3

This game is brilliant. The graphics are fantastic. On a hi-def tv this would be amazing. While you are sitting playing you think you are in a football stadium. The game play is also very good. The only thing about it is, its a bit too easy. When you are sprinting at a defender all you need to do is run past him and he's beat. Captain your country is my favaurite bit because you get to pick one player in a team and play with him and no one else. I have started a game in captain your country with Fernando Torres and scored over 25 goals in 5 games. Its not the best game ever but if you are bored over the summer buy this game
