Smash And Bash Your Way To Freedom!

Having played the demo of this game it has really has caught my attention.

Pretty much everything in the world can be destroyed which is rather refreshing as many games carry the invisible wall syndrome! The map shown in the demo is massive, it honestly will take you by suprise when you see it for yourself.

Graphics are not really breath taking however they do hold up enough to merit a progression from the PS2 era of graphics. After awhile though you forget about the graphics and get pulled in to how much fun you can extract from this game. You can grab any vehicle and take it for a spin, smash through any building you want, you can pretty much take on anything you see in this game and most of the time come out on top!

I've not really been an admirer of THQ's work but this game has put them on my radar and I look forward to the full game release and to wreck havoc upon all that oppose!

i love it, the amount of time ive spent on the demo leaves me restless waiting for this to come out. the thing that really makes this game unique is the destructable environments and in this is so realistic and fun that it can keep you entertained (if knocking down buildings with a giant sledge hammer is entertaining to you) for hours!

  Based on the demo...

Graphics: Pretty good, not as good as some other PS3 games, but still good.

Gameplay: Great, HUGE open area world, countless buildings to flatten, and a variety of destructive weapons to smash and mash your way through anything! And the game also deals well with a huge building being flatten with NO loss off frames!

Phsyics: Top notch, everything happens the way it should be in real life!

Over all: Must buy, who couldn't like a free roam destruction game? The only down-side for some people, is the third person view. If you think about it, the destruction wouldn't seem the same if it was in 1st person, its just feels right in 3rd. But this is a top class game, definately getting it when it comes out. :)

  Love it

Wicked game based on Demo, love the physics and you can nearly destroy everything. Third person was a brave choice but it works. Cant wait for the game to come out !!!

I have been a fan of Red Faction since it started and was looking forward to this when i heard it was getting released.
I was a bit worried with the change from first person to third person but after playing through the demo about 10 times over the weekend this is great.
Liking the open lanscape and destructible buildings too.
Will be picking this up once its released

  BASED ON DEMO.

To begin with, the graphics are PS2 standard. The destructible environments are a positive yet the gameplay gets boring after a few minutes. The 3rd person view has ruined the game; they should have kept it FPS like the last two games. It's ruined the series of games. In my opinion, this game is PS2 standard.

  Stunning use of destruction

With the demo out i had to write a review for it, after playing the demo for a good few hrs i must say that this is looking set to be brilliant stuff. I liked mercs 2 even though it had flaws i just hope that when red faction is released they iron out all the creases because this could be special i hold my breath with major hope.

If graphics are your thing, then Red Faction: Guerilla is most certainly not. Although this new installment in the Red Faction series departs from the first person shooter genre, it does not sacrifice playability. You can now enter vehicles whenever you want, unlike the scripted vehicle entries from previous Red Faction titles. The control scheme is sensible and if you're familiar with most current third person shooters, then you won't even have to check the manual for the controls. It is also now set in a sandbox environment, and as most sandbox games seem to have weaker graphics I still feel that THQ could have done a better job on this. This is after-all a third party title, and it's another example of how the Xbox 360 is holding back the PS3's potential as it was developed for both consoles simultaneously. This could have been so much better if they had developed it solely for the Playstation 3 as the capabilities of the Blu-Ray DVD Rom and Cell Processor are obvious when you look at exclusives such as Metal Gear Solid 4, Killzone 2 and Motorstorm: Pacific Rift.

Good but how does it compare???

Downloaded the demo of this. Seems really good with the fact that EVERYTHING is destructable but don't know how it will be compared to all the other sandbox games coming out like InFamous and Prototype? Still, it's great being able to drive a tank through one side of a building and coming out of the other and seeing the building fall down behind you. Great visuals and style of play.
