Graphics are good, not great. People keep comparing every single game that is released to gta but if you are going to do that then compare gta's graphics to assassins creed 2 graphics or uncharted 2 graphics then gta is the easy loser.
Storyline is short yes but so was both uncharted games yet they are both awesome. It may be a short story but both mafia and mafia 2 storylines are so much more believable than any of the gta storys. Also when the GTA main story finished i got bored very quickly and the side missions were pretty pointless, they were more like taxi missions.
Controls are easy to pick up and the driving controls are a million times better than GTA has ever been.
Gta fanboys need to realise that not every game needs side missions to make a game worth buying so any1 that likes gangster movies, especially goodfellas, you should and probably will love this game.
Overall i know i will play this story mode a lot more times than i ever played GTA, i won't get bored hanging around with my new buddy joe barbaro.
Proper gamers buy this and enjoy it, the rest of you may just start wishing for the next GTA to be released.
am giving it an average rating based on the demo the fighting scenes are good and how easy it is to die is realistic if not too realistic for a game but the graphics are very patchy it reminded me of a ps1 game dont see why everyone says the graphics are good if u look at the environment there really blurd
This is without any doubt the best gangster game I've ever played. The story is compelling and the characters believable but much more importantly the game play is terrific. With no auto aim you really have to rely on your skill to get you through some tough missions. Although the game is fairly short it just as fun when you play it the second time around.
From the start the story picks up and carrys you through the entire game.i say this because there isnt much else to do,sure you can steal cars and do the usual gta style added things but thats it.the story though more than makes up for the lack of freedom of which to do what u want to do,and the voice cast and graphics are brilliant it is a good purchase but it lacks the rawness from the time its based around the music change is very good
Do not be fooled by the games map, this is far from an open ended world where you can roam around for hours completing side missions and interacting with anything and everything. You play a guy called Vito Scaletta and you can only complete the main missions, and unlike Fallout or GTA there isn't much to explore independently. In addition some of the missions are kind of boring like the unexpected prison level, practising your fighting skills over and over again seems to me to be some what rushed and lacking ideas. There are also pointless parts of missions like to finish one mission and go on to the next, you have to drive right across town just to "go to bed". Having said that it is a very fun game to play for the most part. The main missions are entertaining on the whole, the gameplay is great and the character's dialogue is funny and unique. It makes the characters believable. I completed the game on hard and it isn't that hard so if you are expecting a challenging game that will take over your life for a few weeks then this isn't it but this is a game which is solid and is fun for a small while. I would recommend getting it, playing it once, and you probably won't want to go back to it after that.
