Picking up immediately where 'Resistance: Fall of Man' concluded, Resistance 2 follows Nathan Hale as he finds himself once more in a world transformed by war and invasion. Undaunted by their defeat in London, the Chimera have continued to advance and are now poised to attack the United States. Entire cities have been leveled and communities annihilated. In this war where the odds are so heavily stacked against the human race, few are left who are willing and able to fight. Fortunately, Hale is not alone. A group of super soldiers known as the Sentinels will fight alongside Hale as they collectively attempt to thwart the inevitable. Players will once again step into the war-torn boots of Nathan Hale, who not only faces near impossible odds on the battlefield, but also constantly struggles with the Chimeran virus raging inside his own body.

 resistance is once again futile!

Resistance fall of man came with my ps3 in a bundle, i had no idea if it was any good and didn't check out any reviews or videos before playing it and i loved it.

So, i didn't hesitate preordering resistance 2 because it is obvious to me that it is going to be as good if not better than the first installment.

I downloaded the beta trial and gave it a couple of goes, i didn't want to over do it as i prefer to wait for the full game before i become over accomodated with it.

The new levels were good fun, the format similar (a good thing i think, if it ain't broke why fix it?) so i think that the game will go further than campaign in terms of online battles once i've mastered all the weapons etc.

Have looked at a few in game campaign videos on youtube and i was really excited, more so than playing the online beta.

This was due to the fact that you can instantly identify all of the factors that made the original games' campaign mode so gripping; the unpredictable, chaotic surroundings, explosions going off in all directions, the crazy huge mecha enemies, the twisted look of the chameira, the dark, eerie moments are also still present bringing the horror atmospherics into play to keep you on edge.

Also there are trophies to be earned in campain mode this time which makes for a fun incentive.

Although i am convinced that i, and fans of the first game will love this one there are still a few factors with regard to online play that i am still rather intrigued about, like the online co-op campaign and as to what the 60 man matches are going to be like.

All in all, exciting! Don't be afraid to go with this game over cod5, besides everyone is saying that has the same engine as cod4..... Switch it up a little, get with the unrealistic sci fi epic that is resistance 2!

 What Have They Done!?

I can't beleive they've actually managed to muck this one up. The first game was brilliant-I completely agree with Johnny B-but it's almost like this has gone a bit mainstream. If you've played the likes of Turok or Half Life 2, you should know what to expect. A lot has changed since the original. You can no longer carry all your weapons and are now limited to 2. You have a squad for practically every mission. And the guns, while innovitive and fun in the first, seem to have been toned down. It doesn't actually feel that great to even shoot the chimera anymore. The inclusions of "bosses" are disastrous and along with truly awful ending and ridiculous difficulty (even on normal), you have a game that isn't really worth having.

Gutted was so looking forward to this!

I play offline with my old man in co-op mode. RFOM 1 was the best game out on the PS3 for this by far for quite a while.

However in resistance 2 you can't play the campaign in single player!

Why oh why oh why did they take this out.!

They have a split screen co-op available but it is designed for up to eight players and it doesn't really work with only 2 of you.

Also they are no check points and you can't save your progress, so every time you die you have to go back to the main menu, setup the game again and start all over.

To sum up, i am gutted as i was looking forward to this for ages!!

Insomniac you messed up big time!

 Great game with epic moments

This is a great game with epic moments. Some parts feel scary, some parts are tense and some parts had me swearing at the chimera justifying my sweet revenge at them with a good variation of weapons. The graphics are beautiful as you play a campaign set across 1950's America trying to end the invasion from the Chimeran. And the music/sound effects are awesome in surround sound. Knock the level up to normal or hard and you'll get battles that will have you sweating and ducking for cover. Intense!

But there's also a fantastic 8 player online co-op mode where you level up and get better guns or abilities and work as a team to complete randomly spawned levels. For me this is the best part of the game as my mates and I chat, send commands out and basically scream for 'ammo', 'medic' or 'run!!!' And as you level up you gain extra weapons and abilities. When more players join the game it randomly spawns more monsters giving you one hell of a gaming ride. And then there's 60 player deathmatch, capture the flag, team deathmatch and skirmish (this iis where you can go from team deatchmatch to capture the flag to VIP all in one sitting). Adding mates to a party is also dead simple so you'll always have your mates along for the ride. However, playing the co-op mode for 4 hours straight is exhausting. Fantastic game. My only disappointment is that the single player campaign mode wasn't two-player split screen like Resistance 1.

 Great Game... END OF DISCUSSION!

Right so heres the deal i pre order the game and get sent my beta code so i was really excited i wasnt disappointed the entire game has changed but has kept all the fun from number 1 the graphics are now brighter and vastly improved now im a gamer who enjoys pretty much any game be it strategy or fps im just sick of hearing how everygame has to look like cod4 yes it was a good game get over it try another game for once.

But anyways back tot he games the graphics are vastly improved with things such as brighter colours the chimera are now more detailed and look more vicious and you can blow your enemies into meaty chunks which makes me go =ddd

The competitive is the same as number one with new features such as objectives which allow your team to gain the upperhand in a battle if completed although most of my real enjoyment is spent on the co-op mode as its so freeaking awesome you work your character up the ranks and he can be upgraded therefore making you more powerful than a newbie so all you vetrans out there will be rewarded for playing

Overall:
Graphics 9/10
Sound 10/10
Controls 8/10 (take a while to get used to but when used to i give 10/10)
Gameplay 10/10 (personally i think improved from number 1)
Blowing people into meaty chunks! 100/10 Nothing like obliterating a titan into chunks and seeing his rib cage blown apart and his feet and body parts everywhere

Anyways hope this shows you its an awesome game happy hunting
