Great buy, wasn't too sure about buying it at first but was tempted by the free SONY headset. Bought it, really easy setup, game data is separately installed from the disc and only need to download a small 100mb patch and you're ready to play online. Customizable classes are good, large maps with lots of cover and potential sniping spots.
Great team games, proximity chat makes the game even more realistic. Really good for serious clan gaming or just the casual gamers.

This is a team game and running round trying to blast every thing Killzone style just wont work ,ok the graphics need work , but get together in a clan with your mates and this game is very addictive .
honestly when i first got it i was really dissapointed, i thought it was overhyped and after i read the online reviews (posted for the buggy US version) thought about returning it. but after a couple of hours i started to get used to the game. the maps are really good and big, and you can tell they have been specifically designed for online battles. i keep finding new maps that are wicked. best thing is u cant really camp much as using scopes you can catch people out, so u need to keep moving and be good to survive. the variety of weapons are good. its a great team playing game, so making a clan and communicating with headseat is the way forward, however sometimes just playing with randon people is great fun.
Since the game was released slant 6 have put out various patches that have fixed alot of issues the game had. With the promise of more patches and map/weapon packs the future looks good for SOCOM.
A great online shooter that will keep you playing for hours. The added online clan support is good, as is the fantastic customization for your character. If you are a fan of the series or if you are a hardcore gamer, i reccommend picking this title up. The price tag is very cheap added to the fact that it comes with a headset. Must buy!
