I bought nba 2k7 which was just awful, had played nba live 08 before which was brilliant so i bought live 09. I'm not really sure this is any better than 08 and to be honest i think i prefer 08 but its still a good game which is a lot of fun. Would recommend it (or 08)

This game is so life like. Everything down from the team courts and uniforms to the way EA have enabled players to shoot/celebrate etc as the NBA stars do. Dozens of options to hit the baskets. Offense and defense strategies are straight forward to execute and master, playing and using daily updated stats on individual players (if Shaq has a good game and drops 30 points or Lebron rains in 12 three pointers, you'll know about it) as well as updating the rosters on a daily basis according to who is injured. It is a great game, online, with friends or playing an 82 game season on one player. If you love the NBA, get it you won't be disappointed!

i thought perhaps i would try this game instead of nba 2k9 as i love 2k9 but i think certain aspects could be improved...including rebounding. only to find the rebounding on live is terrible! as well as alot of other things,not enjoyable and not worth it.
