At the height of the Vietnam War, a covert ops cargo plane carrying a top-secret consignment known only as 'Whiteknight' is lost over the deepest, uncharted jungles. Special Ops soldiers are immediately dispatched to the scene to retrieve the top secret shipment and one-by-one they disappear without a trace... until one month later, one of them suddenly walks out of the jungle. Crazed and deranged, something in the jungle had ripped out his humanity, poisoning his soul. Something in the darkness had driven him mad... and followed him out.

Taking the first-person war game and turning it on its head, Shellshock 2: Blood Trails places you in a war where fear takes on a whole new meaning.

 Excellent game

Excellent game, very violent and for once we have a game that is not set in WWII. This is set in Vietnam, a welcomed change!

 Rubbish

Top 100 Games Reviewer

This is awful DO NOT BUY!!!!! The graphics are poor the gameplay is rubbish. this is the worst 1st person shooter on the PS3. Nowhere near as good as the first one. AVOID.

 Shocking indeed!

A terrible game! It's got nothing on f.e.a.r 2: Project origin.

Firstly, this game is not even scary at all. It has it's moments in the early stages where some random 'scary' stuff happens but once the zombies are rolled out it's laughable. They all look identical and are not intimidating in the least, they go down as easily as the vc's, hardly formidable foes.

Graphically, a lot is left to be desired. The environments are not very attractive and the levels are immensley linear. Cutscenes are a joke, graphically awful and add nothing to the hardly existent storyline.

Picking up weapons and ammo is definitely the worst thing about it, the pick up radius must be the size of a pin head. This get's really frustrating during gun battles.

Could have been decent, but too many school boy errors avoid!

 Nice idea, so-so execution

I had high hopes for this game. The premise is cliched, but well worn. Secret Government experiment goes wrong....horror ensues.
Unfortunately this is marred by lazy game design.

Gameplay is linear, as to be expected of a game of this type. That isn't a problem when done well, look at COD4, but here it is almost painful, with the plot seemingly incidental to each action set peice. Here's a free tip to the designers, infinately spawning enemies to drive you in a particular direction are not big or clever.

The control system is adequate, but I still can't understand why any game has R2 as fire, when your 'trigger finger' naturally goes to R1.

Graphically, there are a few nice effects, but generally it looks like a PS2 game that has en given a lick of Hi Def paint. They certainly don't showcase the PS3's graphical potential.

In short, I think it is trying to be to Vietnam what Wolfenstein was to WWII, and it could have been. Unfortunately, for a 'survival horror' game, it only succeeds in being a below par FPS.

My advice, for what it's worth, save your money and wait to see if the new Wolfenstein is any good

 TERRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!

OMG i cant belive i bought this game. The first one was amazing but the second, o dear. From the begining you just can tell that it is going to be terrible. About a 4 hour story on the most difficult setting. Seriosly DONT GET THIS GAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!
