I downloaded the beta on friday, its very big so depending on how fast your connection speed is i would let it run over night. Correcton to the other review it is 16gb to DL and you cant do it in the background as you have to be in game to get the 16gb update.
On to the game its alot like crack down on the 360 aswell as infamous and other games alike. levelin up gains you points to upgrade moves, movement, weapons, and gadgets. Lots of quests to do. You can team up into partys and get party loot what is split out random.

Graphic: 9/10
Gameplay: 8/10
Replay value: 8/10

This is all based on the beta so things will most prob be updated to fix bugs and anthing else but im going to hang out for Final fantasy XIV online. Hope it is fixed better than the pc.

having played the beta i can say the game is pretty good if you get the hang of it, as it is in beta testing alot of bugs appear. once they are fixed this will be a bench mark for ps3. and as for the 10 pound monthly fee im thinking it could actually be worth it. keep your eyes on this one.

I've had access to this game through PlayStation Plus service and have been pleasantly surprised by what it has to offer.

For staters you can spent a good amount of time personalising your own unique super hero/villain, equipped with a choice weapons and movements. Everything appears to be upgradeable depending on your experience within the game. Fighting and exploration depends on the choice you make at the start but my set up resulting in some interesting metal powers, e.g. levitation along with a pretty effective long staff.

Unlike the previous review I actually found the voice acting by familiar actors, (Mark Hamill as The Joker) to be pretty good. I'm not a massive comic book fan so many of the 'iconic' characters are new to me but there's certainly an impressive roster. During your character creation you get to pick a mentor from a handful of options, I chose Batman, which resulted in my character appearing in Gotham city rather than Metropolis or elsewhere. For the first real mission I was teamed with Batgirl to take out the Scarecrow which wasn't easy but was good fun.

I agree that the prospect of having to pay for this title on a monthly basis as well as full price upfront is a little off-putting but I'm new to the idea of MMOs so maybe I'll just have to get used to it, however it does stop me giving it 5 stars as other online only games such as Warhawk and SOCOM don't charge a monthly subscription.

There are a lot of bugs in the Beta, but from what I've seen on the forums this is to be expected. As someone wrote 'This is a Beta, not a demo'.
The game has a lot in common with City of Heroes, if the bugs are dealt with the game has a lot of potential.
