Alot better then the unreliable 360. Rrod twice! An excellent array of games including mgs4 and little big planet (both must haves).

Blu-ray player is amazing the overall feel or the product is pure quality and thats what you get from sony yer bit more pricier at first but its alot better put it this way.

Right, i own both of these consoles. I have an Xbox 360 elite and a Playstation 3 160GB console - the limited edition one. So i can say which one i think is the better console, and i'm going with the PS3. Those of you saying the 360 is better because of more games, thats just common sense, people need to think just when the 360 came out, was in 2005 was it? i can't remember but that is why it has more games, when the PS3 was only released in march 2007. The 360 is unreliable with the infamous rrod which is microsofts fault, they rushed the console so it would come out first and what have they gained from it? Yes they have more games but thats it. One good thing the 360 has at the moment is every game outputs to 1080p whereas the PS3 only has a few games in 1080p so i'll give that one to the Xbox. Ps3 is catching up though. Like i say the 360 came out like a year before the PS3 so of course it's ahead, but i'm sure things will change.

The PS3 looks nice, it doesn't heat up - i have played games for hours and the disc comes out mildly warm if that. Playstation Network is free compared to xbox live's £35 a year. Ok live has more content and that, but really all i want is to play games online with people and PS3 plays the same as live when it comes to online games, it's just the content that xbox live wins on, and i think the updates take half the time compared to PS3 but as it's free it's something you just have to take on the chin. I'm perfectly happy with Playstation Network it's all i need.
The PS3 has a blu-ray player and let me say that people who have stand alone blu-ray players have often said get a PS3, you can keep it updated with the latest firmware and it plays like a dream.
Right lets compare value for money, lets say you are buying the 60GB Xbox 360 and you want all the toys to go with it to go online (wirelessly) the console itself is about £160, you need the wireless adaptor thats £50 call it, HD dvd player that was about £100 when it came out (which is a dead technology now compared to blu-ray), xbox live gold subscription £35. Right adding that up that makes £345 in total. The PS3 is £300 call it and for that you get a games console with 80GB hard drive, a brilliant blu-ray player, WiFi built into it, free access to the Playstation Network, a controller that doesn't require a battery it just simply charges via USB cable that you plug into the console, the console is powerful, and last but not least the console is reliable.
So there you go, the PS3 is just the better option and it's cheaper than the 360 so it's win win.
I'm not saying the 360 is rubbish, i just think the PS3 will in a few years time leave the 360 behind once it has caught up with the games catalogue. So really the choice is down to you, if you hear people saying the PS3 is just a blu-ray player is wrong, yes it's a blu-ray player but it's a fantastic games console too and much more.
