People often rate games as five star, perfect is almost unnatainable so in most cases it's highly invalid. This game on the other hand should be a 6 star game.
I initially avoided this because I thought it would be the usual starfox, jax, crash bandicot style romp. I was wrong, it kicks the hell out of them.
The graphics are CG quality, the design is awsome and the story is better than any fantasy blockbuster film in years. The score is also top notch. Imagine starwars mixed with Disney's the Incredibles mixed with Zurg's layer from toy story 2 and add a pinch of jurassic park and a scoop of Pirates of the Caribbean. Then on top of that, there are tons of other beautifuly unique ideas spattered throughout.
It really is quite astounding, full of humour and has stunning visual effects during game play, like space battling enemy ships above a spitting bubbling sun which is spewing solar flares into space.
There are tons of planets to visit, a dizzying array of weapons to collect and modify, all of them stupendously easy and fun to use at the same time as being utterly unique and did i mention FUN !.
I really can't rate this game highly enough and can't believe it took me this long to discover it. I have played it twice in a row so far and got so excited by it that I even downloaded the £9.99 Search for Booty game from the playstation store, which although was ok, lacked the depth, fun and beauty of Tools of Destruction.
