Massive development and aerial pollution have been harming the planet. People recognise how little time is left until the end of the world. Thanks to their massive amount of military strength, The League corporations are in control of the planet's infrastructure and their people are living in the air to avoid the contamination. The ORCA, forced to live on the surface of the polluted planet, organised the resistance and have amassed a formidable arsenal. As a mercenary armed with cutting edge military robot technology, choose your side and defeat the other factions by taking on giant mechanical weapons.

Cut your way inside colossal armoured vehicles and destroy them from the inside out.

  • Identify and exploit each seemingly indestructible giant mobile battlestation's weakness to defeat them.
  • Face 10 uniquely designed types of giant mobile battlestations and engage ten different other kinds of mech in high-velocity combats.
  • Create your own mech and share it with your friends online.

    • Customise your mech with hundreds of parts and weapons, a killer paint job, and decals. Find the killer combination of weapons and armour that will help you take down your enemies.

Interact with the environment beyond everything ever experienced in mech combat games.

    • Experience high-velocity plain daylight combat or low visibility night battles as changing weather and time the atmosphere of more than 40 battlefields including snow field, desert, ocean, underground and city.

Cooperate with a friend in a seamless multiplayer mode or face more friends in versus modes.

    • Team up with a friend online in more than 30 missions to take on the deadliest and most gigantic weapons created by mankind.
    • Face up to 7 players online or LAN in more than 80 different battlefields with new rules and all-new play modes.
    • Engage one of your friends in split-screen head-to-head combat.

Switch factions and make decisions that change both the storyline and your combat experience.

    • Choose your side among different factions including The League, The ORCA and the independent city states, each one having their own sets of giant mobile battlestations, mechs and characteristics, allowing for unique battle experiences.

Multiple control schemes accommodate both beginners and veteran players.

    • Beginners will find new intuitive controls that will allow them to skilfully operate a core in no time.
    • Veterans can enjoy the full range of controls available in previous Armored Core installments.

     so different

it feels like 10 step backwards compare to the other ones, even the ones on the Playstation 1 had a lighter atmostphere. love it though the gameplay is uniqe, realy fast and fun goood stuff

Great game , for people who like mechs this is a must buy.

I really enjoyed this game mainly for the reason its filled with destruction and explosions. You also have some missions where you have to destroy massive forts which can be really fun, if using the right weapons.
The game play is great and also the graphics are ok but could be improved.
The limitless customization was my favorite part of the whole game, theres so many ways you could design your mech that you could spend hours just making mechs.
The only reason i didn't give this game a 5 star is because of its storyline if it has one at all. Before every mission theres a mission briefing but thats about it.
But in my opinion, this game is a must buy for people who like mechs and enjoy blowing stuff up.

massive improvement, but has its flaws

First of all, great game. Im a fan of the armored core series and mech games in general so this will be kinda biased.

Compared to previous armored core games, this one is exceptionally good. The others were slow, awkward controls and kind of jittery gameplay, but still good. This new armored core is something else, fast gameplay, excellent effects, even bigger customization and more user friendly. Plus taking down massive mechs is very satisifying.

But some old problems are still there, controls are still hard to learn, enviroments are quite bland at times and the story is pretty shallow (too mission based for my liking)

All in all if you love mechs, enjoy custmization, and can put up with a little frustration at times then you will enjoy this game

quite good, but some annoying problems

The graphics of the game are good and of nice quality, there is also a high level of customisation which can bring in a few extra hours of gameplay depending on how much you enjoy making different mechs. The control system is good and easy to get use to, there is also a button re-configuration to make controls even more comfortable for the player. A new game plus feature is also present for players who wish to keep playing, a 1 vs 1 ranking system where the player fights a computer controlled mech is avalible and lasts for 30 rounds, this feature was good fun to use.

The main difficulty i expirienced with this game is the framerate lag present in some levels, usually those that involve fighting the giant mobile battlestation's, however this framerate lag tends to stop once enough enemys/objects have been destroyed. Secondly those who wish to use co-op mode can only play missions that they themselves have already completed, this is good for improving ranks of a mission or completing a mission on a higher difficulty, but are not able to go through the story line with a friend. This links into the next point that by selecting the wrong mission could lead you to miss some missions because you accidently moved onto another chapter, by just doing the story missions the game can become quite short, but by being carefull with mission selection more gametime will be avalible to you.

Overall the game is good but some annoying problems such as the framerate lag lower its appeal, but for a price around £20 is worth getting if you enjoy fast paced mech fighting or are a fan of the series.
