On the eve of the Cuban revolution, a major mob meeting in Havana takes a bloody turn. The Don of your family is killed, and you must take the reigns and lead your battered organisation. Success breeds opportunity, so when Michael Corleone comes under investigation by a Senate Committee on Organised Crime, the Corleone Family calls upon you to reestablish its operation in New York and expand into a new territory - Miami. Build up your arsenal, build alliances, and make whatever deals you need to as you fight off attacks and strike back at your rivals. There'll be a price on your head and a target on your back, but don't take it personally. After all, it's only business.
  • Suitable for 18 years and over. Not for sale to persons under age 18. By purchasing this product, you declare that you are 18 years of age and over.

Build Your Family: Recruit, develop, and promote members of your crime family.

Command a Crew: Bring up to three crew members along on jobs, including an arsonist, demolitions expert, safecracker, and more. Command their actions in battle and unleash their specialties on your enemies.

The Don's View: Be a true Don as you coordinate all the action using a 3D world map: survey your turf, place defenses on businesses, analyse crime patterns, identify new illicit racket monopolies, and choose the target of your next attack.

Blackhand Brutality: Act like a mobster to command respect, intimidating and extorting business owners and rival families with devastating new attacks and executions.

Bring Your Family Online: Recruit your friends to join your family and take them into battle online to find out who is the Don of Dons.

'Its Only Business': Relive the greatest moments from The Godfather II in an open-world action experience inspired by the movie.

Like most people I'm a big fan of the movies and was thrilled when I heard about another Godfather game coming out. I had played the first game on the Playstation 2 and found it satisfactory with the exemption of it being repetitive.

Right let's start off with the negatives.

            Negatives

            - It's way too easy, Rival families won't take that many actions against you as you start to take over their rackets, and if they do, they'll only try to perform one offensive action

            - The game isn't that long and you could probably be able to complete it in three days (Including collecting all the trophies).

            - The Game gets repetitive very quickly as most the game is just collecting all of the rackets.

            - Bugs can be found in all games, however in godfather 2 it's crawling with them.

            Positives

            - The Dons view, which has given the game something nothing on the market has.

            - Gets addictive

            - The graphics are good but no GTA

            - Better weapons than the first

            - Story line doesn't really follow the plot of the godfather 2 film, but it's still good

Overall I think it's a good game and worth buying. However it's a long way of changeling the likes of Grand theft Auto series

Godfather 2 has been great fun for me. I played the first one and found it very satisfying taking over New York old school style, so I was very excited for its sequel. In this review im gonna go though 5 topics. Game play, graphics, storyline, AI and overview. Starting with the game play; this game has great game play, fluid and responsive with good controls which can be easily managed. There are some obvious hic ups, however nothing that really rocks the boat. Executions are very satisfying and shooting, driving and the new don's views it also very good. Next up graphics, they pretty much equivalent to GTA 4 style graphics, maybe not as good, however nothing that will annoy you because it looks so bad. The storyline is probably what annoyed me the most. As it is basically no directed to the film and you are the main character of someone who isn't in the film. It has references, however I find that basically all you have to do is take control of 3 islands, and that's not exactly hard. I found myself thinking im gonna spend loads of time taking over Cuba, however I did it in one night... which didn't please me. However the enemy AI is good. Its not great, but its good, however you family are very smart, covering you back all the way. I kept my capo with me at all times and I could basically leave them to take over places, as I upgraded them to the max. Finally, the overview. This game is great. Its not amazing however its at least 3 days of fun, great fun. Therefore it deserves 4 stars. However for a more accurate rating, I would give it an 8/10.

             great game

First of all if you're not a fan of open world/sandbox games in particular the GTA series and the original godfather game and mafia game then don't bother buying this. But if you are a fan of those sort of game, you'll love this.

The graphics are slightly better than the original but its not a huge improvement, still there is worse out there. The graphics are good but not amazing.

The story is loosely based on the second godfather movie, loosely being the important word there's a lot of 'filler' material in here but its still a lot of fun.

The best thing about this game is being able to recruit men into your family, promote them, increase their stats, customise how they look, buy them new weapons etc. There is 3 different ranks for your men and 7 empty slots, 4 soldiers, 2 capo's and 1 underboss. These are your "made men" not your typical thug. As they are promoted there skills increase (as does their health bar). You can take up to 3 men on a job with you, they all have their own talents. Safe crackers, engineers, demolition(explosive expert), arsonist, bruiser(a heavy), medic etc and each role has its own part to play.

Worst thing about the game is the repetitiveness, every time you do someone a favour its either "kill this guy", "smash this shop up" or "beat this guy up". Surely EA could have thrown in more variety. Although oddly enough taking over the different fronts and crime rings never seems to get boring no matter how many times i do it. My other least favourite thing is the bonuses you unlock for taking command of a crime ring, this was an excellent idea but they messed it up in the smallest and yet most irritating way. One of the bonuses is body armour for yoruself, all of your made men and any thug or 'soldier' you have hired to protect your businesses. Biggest problem with this is that you spend a good 15-20 minutes getting your character to look exactly how you want and they slam this giant black slab onto his chest that is apparently "a bullet proof vest". What kind of Don would war a bullet proof vest outside of his suit? shouldn't the majority of it be hidden underneath his clothes with perhaps the shoulder straps showing? and then if you're lucky enough you'll unlock extra ammo, this appears as a ammo belt that you wear around your waist. So you've spent another 15 minutes changing your characters outfit to make him look "cool" while wearing the body armour and now you've got to do it all again. Surely the body armour could be an "optional" thing for your made men. Well anyway, the other bonuses are fine. cheaper guards for your businesses, extra profit frome drug trade all that sort of junk.

Gameplay - how long will you be playing it for? well last i checked i was 75% complete and i've played it for about 4 hours everyday since i bought it so that's around 16hours. You do the math.

At the end of the day this is a very fun game and a huge improvement on the last godfather game but there is still a lot of room for improvement left.

3 stars because it's fun to play and a great game but it isn't an "amazing" game.

Not what i thought it would be

            Where to start :

The graphics are ok, well they suit the game
The controls are easy to learn and use
The driving is easy not that realistic though
The weapons are great and very useful

The gameplay is brilliant such as managing your rackets and buisness also commanding your crew and family tree

            But

The story is very short most of it is just taking over buisness

            Thanks

             Good but...

This game is good just not good enough. I'm a big Godfather fan so had high hopes and some were met the fighting and gun battles which are great but the bad graphics and repetitive gameplay ruined it my advice is if you didn't like the first one stay away but if you did it's worth a look
