Review

BioShock is a revolution in the shooter genre that will forever change the expectations for the FPS. Going beyond "run and gun corridors," "monster-closet AIs" and static worlds, BioShock creates a living, unique and unpredictable FPS experience. BioShock is the Shooter 2.0.

After your plane crashes into icy uncharted waters, you discover a rusted bathysphere and descend into Rapture, a city hidden beneath the sea. Constructed as an idealistic society for a hand picked group of scientists, artists and industrialists, the idealism is no more. Now the city is littered with corpses, wildly powerful guardians roam the corridors as little girls loot the dead, and genetically mutated citizens ambush you at every turn.

This has got to be one of the best games available on the PS3, and after having one since launch it is nice to see a game of this quality. Storyline is brilliant and you never loose interest, the game also looks wicked, and although the graphics may not be as good as some games you become really absorbed into the game. Characters are good and the plasmids are a brilliant way of changing and expanding your gameplay as you progress. I recommend this to any one who is looking for an exciting and enjoyable gaming experience. 5 out of 5 and I look forward to Bioshock 2

Ok, the graphics arent the greatest and don't really show the PS3 capabilities but the story line is very good and the world itself is very unique. Its defintely better than your average shooter as you can craft some really unique ways to kill enemies....and there needs to be. If you like games with unlimited ammo clips lying around then this may not be for you, if like me you prefer a little more of a challenge then you can't go far wrong with this at such a great price as well.
With Bioshock 2 to hit the shelves this year its worht playing just to get a background on the story line as I am expecting good things.

I wasn't really into first-person shooters before this (had enjoyed only a select few like Doom, Halo and Quake 3), but BioShock has completely converted me! As reviewers have already said, you'd be hard pressed to find anything wrong with this game. As of yet I haven't. Sure, the trophies are hard to get but games aren't meant to give you everything on a plate. If anything it will keep you playing for longer, which at this price you can't argue with. Not as replayable as games like Oblivion, but unbelievable nonetheless. I only bought it because it was so cheap and I'd heard amazing things about it...I wasn't disappointed. Buy it now!
