BioShock is a revolution in the shooter genre that will forever change the expectations for the FPS. Going beyond "run and gun corridors," "monster-closet AIs" and static worlds, BioShock creates a living, unique and unpredictable FPS experience. BioShock is the Shooter 2.0.

After your plane crashes into icy uncharted waters, you discover a rusted bathysphere and descend into Rapture, a city hidden beneath the sea. Constructed as an idealistic society for a hand picked group of scientists, artists and industrialists, the idealism is no more. Now the city is littered with corpses, wildly powerful guardians roam the corridors as little girls loot the dead, and genetically mutated citizens ambush you at every turn.
  • Suitable for 18 years and over. Not for sale to persons under age 18. By purchasing this product, you declare that you are 18 years of age and over.

  • Take control of your world by hacking mechanical devices, commandeering security turrets and crafting unique items critical to your very survival
  • Upgrade your weapons with ionic gels, explosives and toxins to customize them to the enemy and environment.
  • Genetically modify your body through dozens of Plasmid Stations scattered throughout the city, empowering you with fantastic and often grotesque abilities
  • Explore a living world powered by Ecological A.I., where the inhabitants have interesting and consequential relationships with one another that impact your gameplay experience
  • Experience truly next generation graphics that vividly illustrate the forlorn art deco city, highlighted by the most detailed and realistic water effects ever developed in a video game

Amazing Game As Any Games Ranking Website Will Tell You

| | See all Gavinge's reviews (68)

Amazing game as you'll reading in all reviews, according to all game ranking websites, it's the 19th best reviewed game of all time now concidering how many games have come out, but on release was the 3rd highest rated 360 and PC game ever as they were the launch platforms.

Amazing grahics
Enthralling storyline constantly challenging your morales and forcing you ro make decisions you may live to regret
Dark story with so much to do in it

The PS3 version as mentioned also has a few new extras in it and the slightly holographic slip case it comes in is great
There actually is no diffrence between this and the 30 quid version.
Great purchase for any next gen console owner

Hope this helped

A Modern Masterpiece in Story and Gaming

Bioshock, This game satisfies the senses on all levels. The graphics are superb and really draw out and highlight the horrific elements of the Rapture environment.

The sound design is flawless, the twisted moaning of splicers as they roam the endless hallways right down to sound of fish swirling outside.

Story, This is a story that really delivers a strong impact and draws you into playing over and over again just to see the fantastic amount of jaw dropping scenes that even films cannot produce.

Value? Well the value for this game is awesome, especially now at its lowest price, the game will last you a long time and the amount of plasmids and tonics availible will give you a reason to return to rapture. And if you can afford to spend some cash you can purchase the challenge rooms pack, 3 new challenges that can be done your own way and show you new scenes you havent... seen before, and with the added use of a special new game option you can replay the game starting with what your character had after you finished the first time. Beautiful. I will sum up now...

Graphics: 9/10
Sound: 8/10
Story: 10/10

Overall Score: 9/10

I can honestly say I have nothing bad to say about this game!
Having just now, completed it for the 3rd time (earning my platinum trophy) I am still wanting more action in rapture.

The atmosphere of this game is like nothing else you will have ever experienced, the sound & visuals portray perfectly a fallen utopia, corrupted by greed and the thirst for power. Rapture has history, which is something most game worlds do not. Throughout the game there are 120+ audio diaries to collect, you don't have too, but listening to them really gives you an insight into many events leading up to the fall of rapture, sometimes they are so disturbing you wish you hadn't have heard them as the game get you emotionally evolved, for example, you walk into one room and see a serverly maimed women dead on a bed, there are tools all over the floor and alot of blood and guts, under the bed there is a diary, when i listened to it I realised it was my mother, my mouth fell open! for a second, I actually beleived this WAS my mother, this was the most sureal experience i've ever had in a video game!

The gameplay is equally impressive, with 6 main weapons to chose from, each with many ammo types your never short of new ways to blow away the crazy enemies, plasmids (genetic modifications) are also used offensively (and defensivly) to inflict more hurt on your foes.

This probably isn't a very good review, just take my advice and buy the game!
