Dante's Inferno will take gamers to the western world's most definitive view of the afterlife as created in the 13th Century by the Italian poet Dante Alighieri in part one of his epic classic, "The Divine Comedy." Dante's Inferno tells an adapted story that focuses on delivering a blockbuster third-person action game experience while bringing Alighieri's depiction of Hell to the medium.

Players assume the role of Dante, who descends into Hell after returning home to find his beloved Beatrice murdered, with Lucifer seducing her soul into the underworld. Dante sets out on a rescue mission to save Beatrice, but he soon realises he is also in Hell to face his own demons and ultimately to redeem himself. Players will take Dante through nine unique circles of Hell as mapped out and described by Alighieri: limbo, lust, gluttony, greed, anger, heresy, violence, fraud and treachery.

Fancy more 3D beat `em-up action against the forces of heaven, hell or both? Check out some of these awesome games!

Scoring 10/10 in revered gaming mag Edge, there are few games as enjoyable as Platinum Games' Bayonetta.

Bloodthirsty chaos ensues when Spartan general Kratos vows brutal revenge in the God Of War Collection.

Kratos raises the stakes and goes for the lord of the Gods, Zeus, in the epic and eagerly awaited God Of War 3.

Featuring epic sword fights and gunplay, War, a Horseman of the Apocalypse, wades through legions of demons in Darksiders.

Team Ninja's Ryu Hayabusa dishes out the justice in the savage martial arts masterpiece Ninja Gaiden: Sigma 2.

Konami's Hideo 'Metal Gear Solid' Kojima is onboard to oversee the blockbuster Castlevania: Lords Of Shadow - well worth a look.

  • Game features:
  • An Epic Adaptation of a Classic: Based on part one of Dante Alighieri's classic poem "The Divine Comedy," Dante's Inferno is a third-person action adventure game that takes Dante on an epic journey through Hell as he seeks to rescue the soul of his beloved Beatrice.
  • The Nine Circles of Hell: Just like the poem, players will descend through Dante's unique nine circles of Hell: limbo, lust, gluttony, greed, anger, heresy, violence, fraud and treachery. Each circle features distinct environments, enemies and story elements befitting the sins committed by their inhabitants.
  • Control the Beasts of Hell: Dante's Inferno features large scale beasts and bosses, some of which Dante will be able to fully tame, utilising them to throw back Hell's wrath to its minions.
  • Fast, Addictive, Responsive Combat: Dante fights through the nine circles armed with Death's Scythe and Beatrice's Holy Cross, with magic powers and a deep, customisable upgrade system helping the player take full advantage of a fast and fluid gameplay experience that will never run at lower than 60 frames per second.

Starts of great but lacks towards the end.

The first third of this game is amazing you see bosses in the distance before you get to them and the monsters fit the areas really well.
In the 2nd third the game starts to lacka nd you get monsters that would make no sense in the area of the world your in. It's just the same monsters over and over in every part of the game.
In the last third the game gets even more worst and lacks new content all together and its just killing monsters with time contraints and so on.
The game starts of amazing it it seems like they rushed the release to get it out before GoW3.
Kind of a let down could of been an amazing game if it kept up the standards throughout the whole game.

 Hellish, Gory and fun!!

I didnt know what to expect from this game. but i picked up the death edition for around a tenna, which wasnt bad at all.

this really is a great game. button mashing hours of fun. the storyline is very good picking up from the original dantes infrno anime.

its going to be very good to see where they go with thus they could easily bring this into the seven deadly sins or other things around the hell topic.

you dont get achievements for the difficukty setting and can change this during game play. you just have to keep a good wit about yourelf to find all the collectibles scattered around the place.

if you like this game i also recommend darksiders.

overall 4/5!!

 Amazing

Not sure what i was expecting with this game but as soon as i started i had to keep going, its one of those "let me just finish until the next save point" only to realise an hour has gone by.
The gameplay and moves are fantastic, seeing them come off in combat is very satisfying. The upgrade system is very straight forward and easy to grasp but my personal highlight of the game is the backdrops. They are spectacular, you find yourself getting a little distracted with some of them. As a whole it is beautifully put together, the graphics fantastic, story is enjoyable, enemies are varied and interesting and the bosses are very impressive to say the least.
I haven't finished this game yet but i think i am coming near the end which means that the game itself is short enough so i think it will be comfortably finished within a week of purchase playng for an hour or two a day.
It is definately worth a look even if these are normally not your type of games.

 Terribly derivative

Based on the demo, seems like a copy of God of war with few original ideas, but with far less attitude. Controls seem a bit off somehow and the graphics aren't quite as good as they really should be. Full game *might* have more original ideas.

 I love it

I've rented this game before i bought it and as soon as i took it back, i had to buy it, i love it there are so many moves you can do and the storyline is really interesting, i was worried that it would be to similar to God of War but in my opinion it is much better, Graphics are good in most places.
