Feel the drama of tournament golf with Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10! Test your stick skills as you play in front of huge galleries and hear the roar of the crowd at every hole. For the first time in the series history, take on one of the toughest tests in golf - the U.S. Open at Bethpage Black. Fight a multitude of tough courses, real-time weather conditions, the challenge of online tournaments, and more - Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 provides an inside-the-ropes experience like never before.

Excitement on Every Swing: Each round will now feel like a tournament stop on the PGA Tour. Huge galleries, digital leaderboards, and broadcast style presentation add to the excitement and intensity of real tournament golf.

Play the Prestigious U.S. Open: The U.S. Open makes its inaugural appearance in Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10. Known as one of the toughest tests in golf, Bethpage Black will challenge every player's golf skills with its extremely challenging course conditions.

Real-Time Weather Conditions: Powered by The Weather Channel, real-time weather now effects gameplay by providing current conditions at actual courses. Putts will roll slower on wet greens and drives will be shorter due to the rain soaked fairways.

Broadcast Style Presentation: ESPN's Scott Van Pelt and the Golf Channel's Kelly Tilghman form a new commentary team that adds to the new sports broadcast presentation, including hole overviews, up-to-the-minute updates from around the course, and more.

Precision Putting: New option that removes the notion of "putter distance" and instead requires players to judge the necessary power for each putt based on slope and distance to the cup.

Tournament Challenge: Relive key moments in tournament history through an all-new character progression mode.

Take on the Leaderboard: Exciting changes are in store for gamers as Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 features new enhancements for the online tournaments. Get ready to step up and take it to the next level this PGA Tour season!

             It's good but....

In terms of the way Tiger Woods plays, it's as good as its ever been but as a yearly update it's disappointing. It's the little touches that are lacking in this that tell me that they haven't made as big an effort as they could've. I mean why do the trees still not sway when it's windy? Why does not a single person in the crowd have an coat on or an umbrella when it's chucking it down with rain? Why are the graphics virtually identical to '09? Why are EA offering 2 courses for download for an extra £4.79 each and not including them on this disc? Personally I find it a bit insulting that content is held back from the final game so that they can charge even more money for it via download. As I say, this game does play superbly but it's all a bit too cheeky if you ask me.

             just buy 09

It just seems thease days EA are just geting lazy this is just 09 in a different box they just added the pointless precision putting feture.

             Better and Harder than TW09

            | | See all Stoner79's reviews (4)

I've been playing the game a fair amount since getting it Friday, and am enjoying it a lot.

TW09 I liked, but found it too easy, but this is a lot harder. The precision putting is a great addition and makes me wonder if they may do something similar for the main swing/chips going forward. The putting overall is a lot harder in judging the speed of the green.

The graphics have improved, things look tighter, more realistic and just a better feel.

The two main winners for TW10 in my eyes are the Live Weather (and weather generally) making it a better gaming experience as you have to adapt, and the Online tournaments.

With up to 18 daily tournaments from all skill ranges. The one that had me on the edge of the seat was Tour Pro Extreme. 1 attempt per day allowed, no grid on the green, gale force winds. Apart from a few uber players a score of -3 may get you in the top 5, certainly in the top 10.....my best is +10 on this so still some way to go! They have the classic tour pro with grid and unlimited attempts too if you have the time.

You also have a few more traditional looking outfits if you like to max your attributes so you don't have to look like Elvis or a giant rabbit.

Great game, well worth the money.

More realism is a step in the right direction.

            | | See all Murray1976's reviews (2)

EA has gone for realism with Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10. The course selection features all the classics but none of the off-putting "fantasy courses" (although one of these, Predator, can be downloaded for a fee). The introduction of weather is a nice challenge although you may wish you were playing in fairer climes as the courses' proclivity for downpours can get rather tiresome.

Online modes are as good as before, with the novel "Play the Pros" feature enabling players to participate in real tournaments against live scores from actual players. Yet niggles remain: dynamic skills, whilst an improvement on the previous system of skilling up from scratch, still penalise players for strategically played rounds. And the realism even extends to the option to actually pay for clubs and kit in a bid to bypass earning items through play. From day one players were able to maximise skills and equipment for various small fees - an insidious tactic, particularly galling when you want to challenge others online.

Tiger works best when it concentrates on realism and this is definitely a step in the right direction.

Ok I've now had the game now for almost 2 weeks and I feel now It is time to express my thought on this year's game.

            Precision Putting

I really do love the Precision Putting this year and it's definitely not as easy I thought it was going to be. In actual fact, I find it that difficult at times that I find myself now using the Classic Putter for Amateur mode. I'm also currently using this putting method for Tour as well. Why though? It's simple, the only way to compete online is to get as many putts as possible in Tour and using the Classic system makes it much easier to sink severely breaking putts. Saying this, I will more than welcome the patch when it will be Precision Putter only in Tour. This will make it so much more difficult and definitely a welcome change in Tour.

            Broadcast camera

I absolutely despise this for 10. The Camera absolutely refuses to follow the ball correctly and changing Camera angles for spin just makes it even more annoying. I mean It's great that EA are trying to replicate the TV Broadcast experience but I'd rather actually see where my balls going to end up. I have decided to go back to Follow cam and whilst I get some weird camera angles like last year, it does seem to do a much better job overall.

            Commentary and Graphics

I've put this under 1 category as I really don't have a whole lot to say about either. First of all, I'd like to talk about the commentary. Now this is much improved over last year but It is just still way too repetitive. The commentators also don't seem to have a clue what's going on. They never know whether the ball is going to stay in the fairway, get close to the hole or whether you're in the bunker. In terms of being able to keep up with what's going on in-game, it's some of the worst commentating I've heard. Saying that though, I love Scott Van Pelt and this is a programming error rather than actually anything to do with the commentators themselves.

The graphics are much crisper over 09. The fairways, the greens and the rough look absolutely stunning. Whilst the Licensed golfer may not have had an upgrade, the environment modelling is definitely much better and you can tell the guys at EA have put a lot of effort into this.

            Live Weather

Something I've been waiting for since 05 is the addition of Weather and the ability to use it online. It really does make the game so much tougher. I can't tell you how much fun I had playing in Gale Force winds at St Andrews and Very Fast Greens and Fairways. One thing I've forgot to mention is the fact the Green Hardness is linked to the Green speed this year so if you're playing on Slow greens, you'll be playing on Soft greens and for Very Fast Greens, Very Hard Greens. This also adds an extra element of difficulty to the game and it makes you check every time what the settings are before you go into a game as every single green and fairway now plays so much different than 09. This is an awesome addition to the game and makes for a much more enjoyable experience.

            Live Tournaments

The Daily tournaments have gotten a huge revamp compared to 09 and there's now so much variety in the tournaments you'd like to play in. From being to choose either a Amateur or Tour daily every day and also Weekly and Play-the Pros which pits you against the real life pros in the conditions that they have to play in. I love the Live Tournaments this year and will play them every single day until the year ends.

            Overall

The gameplay is just so much different compared to 09 that it makes the game much tougher than ever before. Tournament Challenge is a great refreshing mode compared to Tiger Challenge and made for some tough and challenging moments.
            I LOVE IT 10/10
