Here Guitar Hero had the perfect opportunity to reward all us loyal fans who have purchased every one of the guitar hero games. No-one would have complained about paying £19.99 or even more radical, how about putting the songs on playstation store and we could all pick the ones we love over the series and just pay for them. BUT NO - At a time when money is tight thank you Guitar Hero for dragging every last penny out of the fans. Plus Rock Band get Beatles and AC/DC and what do we get Aerosmith and particularly classy............ Metallica. Have you heard of Guns & Roses, Oasis or Queen for example but no, I wait with excitement for the next set......................the greatest songs of Casiotone For The Painfully Alone.

In total agreement with first review

why not just put them on the psn ?? the dlc songs for guitar hero are more expensive than rock band aswel ! the track list is poor aswell where is sweet child of mine ? the pretender ? and why are we stuck with aerosmith and metalica while rock band gets ac/dc and the beatles

if you really are feeling hard done by, why not go out and get Rock Band AC/DC? No one is forcing you to buy this release of GH. You can make your protest count by not giving your money to the GH franchise and getting RockBand instead. Sorted.

I think the biggest thing everyone is forgetting is that harmonix made 1 & 2,then neversoft took over while harmonix went on to do rockband. So we now have guys who r used to making skate boarding games not music games which says it all really. The guitar hero series has been slowly dying since No3, they claim they use master tracks and yet they sound like ringtones at best. Where as rockband actually sounds like the CD. The previous guys r rite saying where's the proper classics?like buckethead - "jordan",ozzy "bark at the moon" and so on. Guitar hero should hang its pik up now cos rockband beats it in every way from presentation (which guitar hero has stolen ie create character and band),stage show graphics, sound quality and most important the 500+ DLC content. Oh and proper band spin-off games i mean come on how good does beatles look

           An actual review!!

Rather than voice opinion on what you think of the game, I thought it best to leave comments after actually playing the game.
If you are a fan of the earlier Guitar Hero games then this will be the package for you. It covers some of the earlier and easier songs up to the legendary Bark At The Moon & Through The Fire and Flames.
There will be something for everyone on the setlist no matter what skill level or preference in song style. And reccomend this game even if you just own the Guitar.
There is now an indicator on the quickplay menu to highlight whether the song is a particulally difficuly one to play of the instrument you have chosen which helps when choosing the difficulty.
Another new addition is a progress meter which shows how many stars you are upto with your current score in a song. Good news for those who insist on 5 staring everything (me included!).

Overall this is a solid game and a worthy addition to the Guitar Hero series and I would reccomend this to anybody who is a fan of the series.
