First off the graphics on this version is so much clearer from the previous versions (ie: notes, lyrics, characters ect..), which for me personally made it more enjoyable.
I loved that you could really customise your own characters
(I managed to make the character have the exact same face structure as I do, which does require some fiddling around, but making your friends is so much fun!)
The way this version of Guitar Hero works is that you don't get points to unlock characters ect... instead you have challenges in career mode, this could vary from a Guitar challenge, where you need to strum upwards a certain amount of times in a song, or it could be keeping a vocals multiplier for a certain amount of time, or even a band bonus where everyone has to work together.
Also to unlock new venues you need stars, for every song you can get up to 5 stars, which depends on how many points you get, then you can receive up to 3 more stars depending on how well you do in the challenge.
Although for me only having 'Guitar Hero 3' guitars (which ARE compatible) means that I can only do the guitar and bass challenges, although it's still just as fun.
As for the tunes, there are some great tracks like Gorillaz - "Feel Good Inc." & Muse - "Plug in Baby", but it would of been better if they had some songs from Dragon Force, Paramore, HIM and some other bands.
However there are a lot of tracks available to buy, which you can access in game, and it will give you a preview of what the tracks sound like, but the price at the moment are a bit steep as they are around £1.59 PER track!
Overall, it's a great addition to the Guitar Hero series and is a must have! 5/5*!
