Wii Remote
To make gaming as accessible to people of all ages and all abilities, Nintendo wanted to create a controller that was as inviting as it was sophisticated. The outcome is the Wii Remote controller. Nintendo fused the familiarity of a remote control with the sophistication of motion-sensing technology to come up with an input device for the ages!

Sporting the size of a traditional remote control, the wireless Wii Remote is a multifunctional device that is limited only by the game designer's imagination. In a tennis game, it serves as your racket you swing with your arm. In a driving game, it serves as your steering wheel. For first-person shooters, the remote acts as your weapon that you point at an enemy. The list of potential uses goes on and on. Using Bluetooth technology, the Wii Remote sends your actions to the Wii console from as far as 30 feet away. As a pointing device, the controller can send a signal from as far as 15 feet away. Up to four Wii Remotes can be connected at once, making for some great multiplayer fun!

In addition to its pointing and motion-sensing abilities, the Wii Remote also includes a speaker and expansion port for additional input devices, such as the Nunchuk controller.

Wii MotionPlus
When used with specially designed games, Wii MotionPlus tracks players' movements in finer detail and with greater accuracy than ever before, building upon the innovative wireless function of the motion-sensing Wii Remote controller. Even the slightest twist of the wrist or turn of the body is replicated exactly on the TV screen, allowing users to become even more immersed in Wii gameplay.

Now i have not playes played the Wii sports resort game that came with my Wii very much, but when i could only play 1 player when my friends came round i had to get a controller, so i could play New super mario bros. and mario kart wii together, but you can not buy the controller sepeate to the motion plus, so i either have to buy a black wiimote which is what i want for my recently purchased black wii, or a much cheaper white one which fulfills my needs

just get a white wiimote unless you want one for sports resort or have a need for a black one

all in all great controller, but make sure you need the motion plus

 Good COntroller

This controller works fine, however from the picture it looks like it is an old style controller with seperate motion plus. But it in fact has the motion plus built in. Updated picture would be good and maybe include in the decription that the motion plus is built in too.........
