Battle of the Bands is the ultimate music rhythm game exclusively on Wii. The story is set in a fictitious world gone mad, where bands battle for music supremacy using weaponised instruments. Featuring 30 licensed tracks from today's hottest bands that can each be played in 5 different music genres (Rock, Country, Marching Band, Hip Hop and Ranchero) with 70 special weapons and attacks.

In each game, a song will be played in one genre for about 10 to 15 seconds and then another, flipping back and forth. Points are earned by beat-matching, and successive matches will automatically launch quirky weapons such as smoke bomb, land mine and flip out. The more points earned, the more the music will be played in the player's genre. The game can be played in versus mode, perfect for social and party game setting, or in adventure mode where player set out to battle bands of other genres one by one.
  • 5 genres, 11 bands, 30 songs and 70 weapons!
  • Prove your favourite music genre is better than opponents
  • Battle to the top of the charts with an array of weaponised instruments
  • Feel the rhythm by swinging the Wii Remote in synchronisation with different music melodies
  • Hit the notes and turn the song into your style of music
  • Over 30 songs recorded in 5 different styles (rock, hip hop, country, marching band and mariachi) for a total of 150 tracks
  • Go deep in single-player mode taking on futuristic bands leading to the ultimate Big Boss battle

I Bought this and it took its time coming.
(I know its takes 3 to 5 days)
I Was excited.
But, I openend it,
Played it once,
And i hate it, Its the worst game i've ever bought.

Im just glad it was only a tenner.
And i didnt pay the usual price for new games.

Im advising you not to buy it.

Battle of the bands - as good as Guitar hero???

Sadly not as good as Guitar hero, however there are other factors to take into account. I love Guitar hero but found that 2 player was a bit mundane and you had to purchase a second guitar. With BOTB and assuming you have two remotes you are all set for some fun two player action with some classic songs. At a price of £12.99 play are making the game much cheaper than the competitors and it is someway off the £60 for GH. A good game for the money but only three stars if I had paid the full £30. Good price Play.com, nice one!

 Absolutely pitiful... Don't bother!

After reading that it was the Wii equivalent to 'Guitar Hero' I though, "Wow, lets give this a try!". But, as you can see from the previous reviews before mine, it's pathetically boring.
With only three moves:- Left, Right and Forward, I can't understand how the developers/producers of this game could have thought this game could be good.
And with an extremely poor selection of songs to accompany the game, just adds to the extreme downfall of what could have been a potentially good game.
Even at the faster or harder levels, my 9 year old niece could play it easily.

Don't buy, simple as. It's not even worth the £12.99 price nor the one star I gave it.

 Rubbish

Like others have said it is rubbish.

You shake your hand right, then left and forward. That is it.

Can't say anything more.

 Best £4.99 i ever spent

The game had awesome controls. No stupid wireless guitar that makes the game £30 more just the wii remote. This is definitely a pick up and play game because i played it for 5 mins and was amazed.
Buy it for the price that they are selling it a play.com
