Disney Interactive Studios and Junction Point will release Disney Epic Mickey for the Nintendo Wii console for the 2010 holiday season. Disney Epic Mickey is an innovative Wii videogame designed by Junction Point's Warren Spector, developer of the award-winning game Deus Ex.

In Disney Epic Mickey, the player guides our hero Mickey Mouse through the whimsical Wasteland, home of past Disney cartoon characters and attractions. Using the magical abilities of paint and thinner, Mickey runs and jumps across a vibrant landscape. This imaginary theme park has been pieced together from sketches of never-created attractions, vintage rides and inventive animatronics, and populated by characters that have been forgotten by time. Battling the minions of the villainous Mad Doctor and an ominous new version of Disney comic book nemesis, the Phantom Blot, Mickey eventually meets and confronts his somewhat resentful "half-brother" - Walt Disney's first cartoon star, Oswald the Lucky Rabbit.

Disney Epic Mickey is an action-adventure platforming game for the Wii console that sends Mickey Mouse on an epic journey of creativity and discovery. As Mickey, the player is propelled into Wasteland, an alternate world made up of Disney's forgotten creative efforts, and is given the power to wield paint and paint thinner to dynamically change the world while determining Mickey's path to becoming an epic hero.

Through the use of this unique paint and paint thinner, the key components of animation and Mickey's tools for impacting his world, players will have the ability to shape how the story unfolds as they discover the concept of "Playstyle Matters" - an innovative style of gameplay created by Disney Interactive Studios' Junction Point, led by industry luminary Warren Spector, where players creatively tackle different challenges in the world to explore all the possibilities and storylines - but with consequences for their chosen actions.

  • Use paint and paint thinner to change the world, interact with friends and enemies and solve challenges
  • Choose the best path to become an epic hero because "Playstyle Matters" and choices will change the outcome of the game
  • Explore and solve challenges in an alternate Disney world ruled by Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, Walt Disney's first cartoon star
  • Travel between lands in Wasteland through classic platforming levels inspired by animated films and shorts
  • Experience an innovative mix of platforming, action-adventure and light role playing game elements
  • Collect over 75 virtual Disney pins in the game by completing specific challenges, quests and discovering hidden collectibles
  • In Disney Epic Mickey, players use unique magical powers in a fantastical world to become a hero, using the properties of paint and thinner to dramatically change the world and solve problems
  • Disney Epic Mickey is a balance between both Disney's heritage, and dedication to contemporary videogame innovation
  • Disney Epic Mickey embodies Warren Spector's hallmark "Playstyle Matters" gameplay. While going through the game's adventures, players can change the world and affect the characters' responses, the story and the friends they keep. How the story unfolds, and who becomes a friend or an adversary, is up to the player

There's a reason it's called 'Epic Mickey' and that's because this game is truly epic! From the genuis that is, Warren Spector, comes a game of challenge, fun, and discovery. Explore new worlds, pass through Mickey's cartoons, and meet Oswald the lucky rabbit, the lost Disney character, back to triumph!

I got this for my 8th birthday and its is Awesome totally epic you go on a amazing adventure with a helper called Gus and he tells you what to do.If you liked Mario Galaxy you will love this game!!!
I wasn't sure that I really wanted this game when I first opened it but now it is in my top three games ever!!

Great platformer - worthy of the great plumber himself

Play Mickey going to different worlds within a run down theme park to collect items and unlock lots of bonus content. Hours and hours of fun with this great looking and sounding its a real love letter to Disney that play brilliantly. The camera angles sometimes does cause problems with the platforming but this is very infrequent. Its an excellent story and a must have especially if you are going to buy Epic Mickey 2 - for the price tag of under ten pounds this is an essential buy.

 Disney interactive at its best

This game is amazing. If you have ever been to Disney World you will recognise many of the "worlds". This game is set in the world that Disney forgot. All the cartoons that have been archived and forgotten about means there are loads of different things to see, do and meet. You use the power or paint and thinner to create a world full of colour or a world without. The aim of the game is to beat the inky bad guys and escape this distorted Disney world. The only downside is that you can not go between the levels like Mario Galaxy but this can be overlooked. Well worth a try if you like platforming and Disney. This is a vast improvement over any past Disney Interactive game you have played in the past.
