In 1996, the original Tomb Raider was launched. The 3D game design, controls and graphics were truly ground breaking for their time. Furthermore, gamers were also presented with a unique, female human playable character with whom they could become emotionally attached, Lara Croft. The original Tomb Raider sold over seven million copies and is still heralded as an absolute classic and one of the best action adventure games ever!

Inspired by the original Tomb Raider video game; Tomb Raider: Anniversary faithfully preserves the elements which made the original Tomb Raider game such a classic.

Using an enhanced "Tomb Raider: Legend" game engine, the graphics, technology and physics bring Lara's adventure and pursuit of a mystical artefact known only as the Scion right up to today's technology standards and will offer gamers a completely new gameplay experience.

Celebrate and commemorate ten years of Tomb Raider and Lara Croft with Tomb Raider: Anniversary, an entirely new gameplay experience inspired by the first ever Tomb Raider adventure.

Play the living Lara Croft, the world's greatest action heroine of all time - use all of Lara's guile, athleticism and gadgets in her quest to conquer the unknown and uncover ancient artefacts.

Includes classic environments from the original Tomb Raider as never experienced before: Crystal Dynamics latest technology allows you to fluidly manoeuvre Lara using her latest moves and gear, through all the worlds from the original - Peru, Greece, Egypt and more. The dynamic world allows multiple playthrough options and also opens up new places and ways to explore.

Explore uncharted and mysterious worlds: Enter into strange, undiscovered lands and solve their deepest, darkest mysteries, open doors to new realms, uncover great rewards and unearth secrets to Lara's past.

Startling enemy encounters: Encounter fierce animal and supernatural enemies, wolves, bears, crocodiles, horrific monsters and the T Rex. New and improved AI means that all enemies will exhibit a more diverse behaviour set, providing improved combat challenges for the player.

This is a reamagining of the original and what a beautiful and atmospheric game it is to. Great visuals and sound. Wii controls are great. some complain about the targetting but its very like Metroid Prime3. Lock on with nunchuck button. This gives a fixed target. Then use the Wii remotes target to match up and blast away. Keep moving and jumping, rolling and flipping away from your enemies by pressing the A button. Works fine for 99% of the time occasionally there is the odd awkward camera angle. If your caught in the jaws of an animal shake the nunchuck to release the grip. Next up for motion is the excellent grappling hook...jump and flick the nunchuck and out it shoots then using the analogue stick to swing through the air. perfect everytime. The animation of Laura is brill very similar of prince to Prince of Persia.
The games shear size of levels in size and also scale. Stand on top of a large waterfall and swan dive off the top.....nothing like it. The feeling of being alone as you explore is brilliant. Play in the dark and use the Wii remote as Laura torch....cool. Next the tool kit. You will find cracks and loose stone at some parts and can bring out tools to loosen and reveal clues which can be charcoal rubbed and taken with you. A small hammer can be used to break walls with hammering motion. This all adds to the investigation and exploration. Excellent.
Buy if you want adventure and a fabulous story line and great puzzles within each tomb.

Not going to go on about it apart from wicked game, whilst not PS3 or 360 graphics standards it's playerbility is excellant. Some parts are hard to master but keep at it & the remards are spectacular.

         Decent game

It's a really fun game. The adapted game play for the wii is pretty good. The camera angles can make it hard to move around but you soon get used to it.

The puzzles are a good difficulty. I've been playing it on medium which i think gives the best experience in most games. But you can choose.

some people don't like the way you aim, personally i don't have to problem with it. It's the same with most wii games , lock on, and aim with the wii remote. Then you can dodge and weave as much as you like.

I do think it can be a bit dark in some places but you do have a flash light and in the options the game has it's own brightness control that most games don't have.

Remember this is the wii, so it's not something you buy for good graphics, it's all about game play and it's got it by the bucket full.

It's definitely worth having, but i'm not sure it's worth £35, although that is how much i got it pre owned from a GAME's retailer (not naming any names) and you'll be getting it new. If you got the money though, GO FOR IT

         great game

this game is great, as expected from tomb raider. however the only thing i didn't really like was the shooting. when you shoot usually it locks on and once you have locked on it follows the target until you shoot it, but on this game you have to actually point the remote at the screen to shoot each target (and when they are lots of things coming at you it is quite hard!!!) another thing that i do find annoying is the camera angles sometimes it is quite hard to see where lara's jumping to. i have found though that some times if u keep pressing c and moving about the angle changes :)
although this apart ... it is a good game and i would recommend it to anyone who loves tomb raider !

         Excellent just a little twitchy!

Better than the PC version by a mile. Plying it on the PC I got bored but the fact that Wii brings a whole new interactive nature to the game really pulls it out into a new class. Having only had it 24 hours it's a game that I can't stop playing.

It places you in a more "realistic" position wihtin the Tomb Raider franchise, feeling more in control of Lara an the additions of archaeological challenges really add to the autheticity of the game. You'll find yourself stuck on basic pzzles and just flicking your hands around for the fun of it.

Saying this there are still issues, the controls are a little twitchy, too many times Lara has been running for a perfectly aligned jump and then veered off to the right or left but it just adds to the fun (at first then becomes a little annoying especially when your last save point is seven stories and a few rope swings behind you),.

Gladly it isn't a game that can be done in a day or so as some other titles I own, it seems to last and last with some requirement to think and work out rather than simply following the predetermined routes wihtin the game.

I'd certainly advise buying this game, the camera takes a little getting used to but after an hour or so you'll find the double clicking second nature.

Buy, perch on a seat and prepare to enter the world of Tomb Raider on a level like never before.
