Marvel: Ultimate Alliance is an all-new action/RPG where players create their Marvel dream team from the largest roster of Super Heroes ever in an epic quest that will determine the fate of Earth and the Marvel universe. For decades, Earth's Super Heroes have opposed evil in their own cities, and on their own terms. But now, Dr. Doom and a newly reformed Masters of Evil - the greatest collection of Super Villains ever assembled - have plans for world domination, and the heroes must band together to defeat them. Playing as some of the most revered Marvel characters, gamers will embark on a dangerous journey across exotic terrain and well-known comic book locations like Atlantis, the Shield Heli-Carrier and the Skrull home world in an attempt to defy the world's most notorious Super Villains. Marvel: Ultimate Alliance lets players control the most powerful Super Hero alliance the world has ever known.
  • Advanced Gesture Based Combat System - One of the most important implementations on the Wii is the `Advanced Gesture-based Combat System which pushes the capabilities of the Wii-mote and Nunchuk controllers. Players can even chain gestures together to create very powerful attack combos.
  • Motion-Sensing Controls - With the Wii-mote, players can swipe upwards for upper cut punches and kicks, swipe down for stun attacks, sweep left or right for trip attacks, jab forward for heavy attacks and shake for quick, light attacks. Further, attack powers are custom for each character and are mapped to the Wii-mote gestures, and the Nunchuk can be used for picking up objects, throwing, blocking, dodging/rolling as well as movement via the analog stick.

 Pretty good.

This game is pretty much your average beat-em-up. Nothing too spectacular about it. However, it's length, and the ability to form a party from any marvel comic characters you would ever want to, makes up for that. Also, I found the plot to be surprisingly good.

The game plays very much like X-men Legends. Some parts of the game are almost exactly like Legends... there's no doubt that Ultimate Alliance was "moulded" around that of X-men Legends.

I'm not a collector of marvel comic books... i mean, i like the movies and stuff, but that's about it. There are tons of marvel superheroes and supervillains that you'll have never heard of... which makes it all the more fun to discover them!

Overall, a good, solid game which can be played for hours. You may find yourself going back to the game to complete it with a new set of superheroes.

Buy this if you like Marvel comics/films, X-men Legends, and beat-em-up games in general!

Thumbs up from me!

 Good fun,

Top 100  Reviewer Top 10 Games Reviewer

Well first thing i noticed about this game was the amazing brilliant Cut scene graphics. but well they deteriorated in the gameplay graphics,
But after playing this game i found it slightly boring i thought the gameplay was repetitive and got old i did however enjoy the game the further into it i got,
Now im not comic book fan but i do enjoy all the comic book heroes movies (with the exception of the Hulk) But i enjoyed the story of this game, the evil victor von doom has gained huge power and gathered all the super villains together to destroy the heroes once and for all and rule the world, you travel between many of the heroes home places and fight together to clear each areas missions and help. with a sort of multiple ending conclusion depending on the missions you do and dont do. adds a slight replayability but still even after that the replay value was very poor.

Story........... 8/10 (i enjoyed it alot)
Game play..... 6/10 ( got repetitive but still fun)
Graphics........ 7/10 (excelent cut scene graphic, not so good in game)
Sound........... 6/10 (Ok not best But good quality)
Play length..... 8/10 (11 hours isnt to bad)
Replayability... 2/10 (even more boring than zelda twice round)
Multiplayer..... 3/10 (basically the one player with 2 people not to fun)

Total 40/70

 I like it!

If you enjoy games with longevity then you should like this!
It does help if you enjoy Marvel, super heroes and action all at once.
Haven't mastered all the controls on the Wii Contollers yet but this one of the reasons why I bought the Wii - playing games and moving around instead of sat on a sofa with a joypad etc.
All in all, good game, good storyline and not bad graphics.
Worth a buy!
