Hold and point it in many different ways depending on the task (i.e. upright to mash potatoes, lengthwise to fry in a pan, etc.) to get the real sensation of cooking in a kitchen!
  • All-new Cooking Challenge Mode lets you and a friend go head-to-head in the ultimate multiplayer cook off to determine who can cook the fastest with the fewest mistakes.
  • Recipes progress from simple to complex, from small to large dishes, so do your best to meet Mama's expectations as you unlock new dishes.
  • Use 300 foods to create 55 real world dishes from 10 different nations.
  • Play against 10 unique computer controlled international characters to earn unique items for your kitchen.
  • Realistic graphics with real-time effects make you feel like you're actually cooking. Adjust your timing and make decisions about your next course of action based on what you see on screen (i.e. if food is starting to look burned, quickly remove it from the burner, etc.).
  • Earn bronze, silver, and gold medals from mama based on the quality of your cooking.
  • Practice mode allows you to fine tune your cooking skills without being judged.

 Good Game :)

Good controls, very fun multiplayer. But you cant unlock recipes as you play with mates.
Its is pretty much a manga-ish type cooking simulator. One of the better games on the wii.

Good - but could, and should, have been great.

Top 100 Games Reviewer

After playing this title on the DS I was excited to see a Wii release - especially when I read it featured a multiplayer mode where you race to complete the meal first.

Before I say anymore, let me say this game is actually quite good - it's just not amazing.

Somehow whether you do well, or do badly just doesn't matter - and I'm not quite sure why.

The graphics are okay, they're done in a cartoon style but are realistic enough to add to the game. The different ways you have to use the Wii remote are pretty good, although there are several levels where it's just not clear why you're being asked to use the remote in the way you're being told to.

All in all, this is a title which at the end of the day is very simple, and really is just a collection of very similar mini games (ie. cutting, flipping, peeling, etc...).

It should really be a budget title, at £20 it would get an extra star - but for a full price Wii title it left me somewhat disappointed.

They've done well to get this title out fairly early in the Wii's life - and for that reason its worth adding to your collection, but as soon as more titles appear for the Wii I don't expect this game to get much of a look-in - and that's a shame for a game which could have been so much better.

Rated as 1 * but only as 0*'s wasn't an option

Dire, absolutely dire this is a terrible terrible game for so many reasons-one of which is 'Mama' is something you'd see in a 1970's sitcom if an Italian family moved into a street, the accent is just so surprising considering the PC world we live in

the controls are set to right handed and cannot be altered (although this isn't going to be a widespread problem its still a design flaw) things such as the meat grinder will not work if attempted left handed.

the onscreen instructions are just not adequate

overall spend the money on an additional Wiimote this game isn't worth £2.99 never mind £29.99 I'm just glad i rented it and didn't buy it

 Not worth buying

We rented this thank goodness, i would of been very annoyed if i'd of bought this for £30. No option for left handed ppl, very dodgy motion sensitivity and all in all a bit rubbish.

Mama is so annoying too! we wanted to cook her too.would possibly be ok for kids, but then the actions which don't work well would probably frustrate most younger children.

Cooking Mama was left in the oven too long!

Here we go again.Another boring game, with no clear instructions and no sense of achievement.Yes,it's Cooking Mama.A game which leaves a sour taste in your mouth.Usually described by critics as a fun game, full of non-stop action. How terribly wrong they are.It is a game which you know is going to be boring as soon as you pick up the remote. The hyperactive music gets on your nerves and before you know it,you'll have this game on sale.It is bland, boring and honestly is a waste of time.Buy another game. And Cooking Mama?I wish I could.
