While not as enjoyable or polished as Wii Fit Plus, this is worth getting as an alternative.

The resistance band, while not very powerful, is certainly a better method than trying to treat the Wii Remote as a dumbbell. Plus, once you get the leg strap on tight enough, it certainly allows the game to follow your lunges and squats.

Essentially, this is a more interactive version of Fitness Coach; with the idea very much to stick to an exercise regimen, rather than dip in when the mood takes you. A fair amount of effort has gone into explaining and demonstrating the exercises, although I would say that either the female trainer is a midget, or she has a much longer nunchuck wire; as I found that mine became fully taut before I'd completed some of the moves properly.

           Brilliant!!!!

Got the game last tuesday and am feeling its affects already....I ache everywhere, I have also lost 2 kg!!! As a regular gym goer thought it would be a walk in the park, I was wrong!!!

It works better than Wii Fit I think because you can't just pick the easy fun things to do. With the 30 day challenge from your weight, height and age data you are set a regular workout, which you are guided through with concise video examples, and can be set at one of three levels depending on how you feel..

Generally you start with a walk/run and a few lunges to warm up, then a series of stretchesand other exercises including the brilliant boxing incorporating the resistance band (& fit board if you choose) and end with another walking/running combo. Throughout all of this the calories you have burnt are displayed on screen and provide a little more incentive if needed!!

You also have a journal to fill in if you choose which is great if you want to be able to try and monitior your eating habits, nothing kicks you up the bum harder than having to admit just how many sugary drinks and take aways you may have indulged in!!!

Also unlike Wii fit you aren't expected to go on everyday, you have rest days, and if you miss a day its counted as rest instead of being questioned by the annoying little fitness board man!!!

Having used both fit and active I much prefer this option, your really do work up a sweat and feel like you've earned it!!!

           Great game to increase fitness

After owning Wii Fit & Plus, then buying 'My fitness Coach', the latter didn't even compare. The graphics weren't as good, and it felt too difficult. This made me think that this game probably wouldn't be as good as Wii Fit. However, I was wrong.

EA Sports Trainer is a great game, possibly better than Wii Fit. I've had the game for a week now, and everyday I have been motivated to go back to EA Sports Active to do my workout and fill in my journal. The workouts themselves are great, I've opted for the '30 Day Challenge', which consists of a 20 minute workout everyday and burns around 100 calories. After the workout I always feel like I've actually done something, and that I have thoroughly worked my body (and this is on low intensity!).

I feel as though it is better than Wii Fit because it produces a decent workout for you everyday, with varying exercises and pushes you to work out the hardest you can. It makes you want to come back to it day after day because you feel like you're achieving something.

The exercises are easy to follow along, however, you do need to make sure you hold the wii remote still when needed, as it does delay the exercise by a few seconds while you get 're-instructed'. Sometimes I move too quickly, and this does upset the game a tad.

The accessories that come with the game are great. The resistance band is fine for me, I noticed other reviews said it didn't provide enough resistance, you can change this by doubling it over or shortening it. However, the way it is, is perfect for me. The leg strap is good, however when I'm running it does sometimes work its way down my leg. And if I do tighten it up enough, it starts to feel like my circulation is being cut off a bit. But for most exercises it seems to be alright. There is also an adjustment strap for people with slightly smaller thighs.

Really great game, very pleased with it. Really feel like a combination of the 30 day workout and a good diet will help me to slim down a bit!

           Absolutely Fantastic

I am doing the 30 day challenge on the high intensity workout. For those of you new to fitness, I would recommend you to start at the lowest level. It is much better than the Wii Fit which I also have and it is much cheaper. You will really sweat unless you aren't working properly. I am about 8 days into the challenge now and boy am I feeling it. My arms are really toned now and the great thing with Sports Active is the exercises change all the time so you don't get bored. You really feel as though you are there whether it is on the basketball court, on the track or doing some dance moves. The calories you burn are displayed on the screen and there is an on screen trainer who shows you the moves. There are also videos you can watch to make sure you are doing the exercises correctly. I was introduced to the squat hold today where you have to squat down and hold it for a minute. Really hard but I managed it twice and I'm 41 with 2 kids. If you are only thinking of buying one game, I would get this one as you will feel the benefits. You can take the lifestyle survey where you say if you have eaten the required portions of veg and if you have done any other activities etc. A good motivation with this is you collect trophies as you go along. Go on, treat yourself, your body will love it! You can do it in the comfort of your own home and you get rest days. Buy it now, you won't regret it!!
