The long awaited return of Link will be more than worth it. "The Big N's" flagship launch title is shaping up to be one of the most amazing installments of the series yet. Eschewing the cel-shaded cuteness of Windwaker, Twilight Princess marks a return to dark guise of the Nintendo 64's Ocarina of Time. This promises to be Link's darkest, most dangerous quest yet! Make full use of the revolutionary Wii controller in exploring the haunting plains of Hyrule and free the world from sinister shadows, or relax with the fishing rod; the choice is yours!

Link, a young man raised as a wrangler in a small, rural village, is ordered by the mayor to attend the Hyrule Summit. He sets off, oblivious to the dark fate that has descended upon the kingdom. When he enters the Twilight Realm that has covered Hyrule, he transforms into a wolf and is captured. A mysterious figure named Midna helps him break free. With the aid of her magic, they set off to free the land from the shadows.
  • When Link travels to the Twilight Realm, he transforms into a wolf and must scour the land with the help of a mysterious girl named Midna. Using the power and unique control of the Wii console, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess features incredibly precise aiming control using the Wii Remote.
  • The Wii Remote and the Nunchuk controller are used for a variety of game activities, including fishing and special sword attacks.
  • Players ride into battle against troops of foul creatures using an amazing horseback combat system, then take on massive bosses that must be seen to be believed.
  • Many puzzles stand between Link and the fulfillment of his quest, so players must sharpen their wits as they hunt for weapons and items.

For me Zelda: Ocarina Of Time on the N64 was the best Zelda game until Twilight Princess came along which really gives it a run for it's money. The Legend Of Zelda: Twilight Princess was one of the first Wii games out and still one of the best looking and playing games out on the Wii. Nintendo really have worked their magic again on Twilight Princess with it's wonderful story and fantastic use of the Wii controls. It will take a good 40 hours + to level up and complete this Zelda game. My only nag is that the game starts off a little bit to slow but thats all. For those of you that enjoy your role playing games then this is a must buy.

 A Link to the Future

So, this was the first game in which I purchased for my brand new Wii console and I was a bit apprehensive about what I was supposed to do, but throughout the game it gives you hints and clues and in general, subconsciously gets you used to controlling the brand new way of playing your console.

As well as amazing graphics, the story is sparkling and pulls you into the world of Twilight, putting you into the character of Link. Having to do many of his movements, it's almost as if you become the character, and you become more involved in the game; which, in my opinion, is better than sitting down moving your thumbs about all day.

From Fishing to Sword Skills, your control of Link is endless and as you'll find, journeying through Hyrule and the Twilight, will be ever needed as you battle monsters, jump amazing jumps and turn on your senses to see what cannot be seen with basic vision.

I've played on pretty much every single console there has been to play on, including: Sega Megadrive, SNES, Gameboys, Playstations, DS's etc and not one of those consoles and it's games are a patch on this game being stationed on the Wii.

This will probably be my first and my last five star rating, but for a game as good as this, I don't know how anyone can't agree with me.
And as for any gamer giving it three stars or less, they certainly mustn't have a very wide gaming perception or have experience in other Zelda games to know that this is by far one of THE best games to come from the new Wii Console.

 What can i say?

The Legand of Zelda, it's an evolution of gameplay from one generation of console to the next. Yes this game has a hell of a lot of hype to live up to and some big boots to fill due to previous installments but Twilight Princess does it all. I'm sorry if there are 'I liked crash Bandacoot better' reviewers out there dragging this title down; but if you've never been into huge RPG's like what the Zelda series is, then I'm affraid you never will be so please dont buy this game, its really not for you!

This game is so in depth its unreal, the quality of the gameplay is second to none, it really does get you engroced and gripped to the game more so than any other Zelda ever before. For those who spend the time to search the hugely vast expanses of the map, you'll find mini quests that will help you hugely later on..eg Finding the howling statues dotted around so that you can learn new fighting techniques- something thats unique to this Zelda title. But i can't mark this title down like others have because its slow to begin with.....Isn't that what all good RPG's are all about, if anything, if it does take longer to get what you want out of this game, doesn't that give you some idea as to how incredibly huge its is? Plus i honestly don't think anyone out there will ever complete this game 100% on their own without a guide, there's just so much to do and so many mini quests that are off the beaten track.

One thing is for sure tho, if your willing to put the time into this huge quest, it is massively rewarding. The satisfaction you experience is fab and yes, sometimes you will get annoyed with it and it can get immensly frustrating in parts but thats what a game like this is all about. Think of it as "Brain Training" Zelda style! You dont get it right the first time, you'll not be insulted by some cheesey bloke windging he's cold and wants some cocoa!lol No, you just take it as it is, you did something wrong, so do it again. With this said, Zelda Twilight Princess if definately not linear! far from it.

The graphics are fantastic too! very clear and very vibrant, i was instantly impressed from the moment i turned my Wii on. Fantastic intro to any game. I do believe adding the Twighlight rehlem was a great addition and gave an instantly memorable moment to this game. Abit much to take in at first but flows brilliantly throughout the game.

I suppose everyone is entitled to an opion and i do not mean to offened anybody but if we're all honest here, you'll not like this game no matter how hard you try if your after a no thinker! Its not a shooter, its not an arcade game and it certainly isn't Resident Evil lol. All i can say is that it is however, the best Zelda game yet and i'm the proud owner of it. As for it being the best game ever made- it more than likely is if you can see past the lengthy game play and difficult senario's and look at its innovation, gameplay, graphics, depth, storyline; this game offers it all as one package. A must buy for Zelda fans and a must buy for RPG lovers. You will not be disappointed, just play the game as intended, its a good 20-40hour game so get yourself stuck in, there's plenty of fun to have. (I've had this since launch and I've still not completed it)

Oh and the price is right too! go on, bag yourself a piece of gaming genious.

If only I could give it 6 stars

Put simply this is and always will be the best game on the Nintendo Wii and for me is the only game I have come across that could be mentioned in the same breath as Ocarina of Time which is the best game I have ever played so that is saying something!
There is an endless list of what this game does well, and the only thing letting it down is the graphics showing there age with some iffy testures here and there but in a game as epic as this that really is nitpicking.
Buy it, play it and love it!

One of the greatest quests to date

The Legend of Zelda is one of those things, where if you've played one game, you feel the need to play as many as possible.
For anyone who has played Ocarina of Time, you will cover a lot of familiar ground here - making only for more excitement when you run into characters and areas that made for one of the best gaming experiences ever.
The beauty of the Zelda series, is that each game is independent; it is a totally unique and consuming quest that is to be enjoyed without necessarily having played one of the games before.

So now for Twilight Princess - easily one of the best titles to date. We see a recurring theme of the series here, which is the transition between two different worlds: The twilight realm and the light realm. The worlds are absolutely enormous, and if you feel the need you can just explore for hours. Hyrule field is astounding in its enormity, with each of the individual areas [many also seen in games such as Ocarina and A Link to the Past] are huge, whilst also retaining a sense of familiarity.

The quest itself is epic; around 90 hours of gameplay, with some of the toughest temples to date, as well as so many intricate details; including learning new sword techniques, meeting characters and helping them to gain special items.

If you happen to have played this on the gamecube, the game is all flipped in a mirror image to accomodate the wii remote, as link is left handed in the standard versions.

If you have played a Zelda game before, then you know that they are always of an exceptional standard, and this does not disappoint. If you haven't, then Twilight Princess is as good a place as any to start. One of, if not the best gaming experience on the wii, take this opportunity to sample one of Nintendo's greatest characters and series. 5 Stars through and through.
