  Best game ever.

Super Mario Galaxy is probably the best game ever. It has lots of different ideas, great graphics and great music. Finishing the game is not too difficult but getting all 120 stars in the game is challenging, so this is a good game for experienced gamers or for novices. Perfect.

  Mario Reaches for the Stars

The main games in the Mario series have a long standing reputation as being amongst the best of their generation and Mario Galaxy is no exception. As the name suggests this new outing takes Mario away from the Mushroom kingdom and high into the stars above. Despite this the game still features a number of instantly recognizable enemies and power-ups while still having more than a few new tricks up its sleeve.

Following a brief intro, in which Bowser yet again kidnaps Peach, Mario finds himself inside a giant space ship which acts as the games hub (much like the castle did in Mario 64). Access to different galaxies/levels gradually open up as you progress with each containing six or seven challenges of varying difficulty. Many of these levels are completely unique and the game never seems to run out of new ways to challenge and entertain the player. As you would expect the platforming itself is second to none and the controls quickly become second nature allowing for precision control. Every time you die you know it is your fault rather than the games.

Perhaps wisely Super Mario Galaxy only makes limited use of the Wii's motion controls. Star bits, that help earn extra lives, can be collected by pointing while some boss fights require the player to deflect projectiles back at the enemy. All in all then this is an excellent addition to the Mario series and one of few games on the Nintendo Wii than can be enjoyed by both casual and hardcore gamers.

  A True All Time Classic

Here's a strange one - I've never been into the Mario side scrolling platform games. Not because they're no good but rather they're all too similar in style for me. However, cue Mario Galaxy and all of a sudden my attitude to Mario has changed and I realise just why I love gaming so much. The sheer brilliance of level design, the cutesy graphics & freedom of movement are unparalleled on the Wii bar Galaxy 2 and match the best the PS3 and 360 have to offer. In fact, for gaming thrills and spills I'd say that it's on par with GOW3 and Uncharted 2 and that's really saying something!!

However, where this Mario game stands out over the other platformers lies in its substance. You'll not rest until you've collected all the stars and even then you'll want to go back to completed levels to try and get a better score. Rest assured this will all take many many many hours of your life every moment (including the frustrating deaths) of which will be gaming bliss.

Excellent Mario game,This is what ive been waiting ages for. The game is easy to pick up and play, remote in one hand and nunchuck in the other. Its like playing Mario 64 on N64 for the first time, but now you can run around and underneath the levels, theres loads of exploring to do and lots of interesting enemies. Cant wait to try Mario Galaxy 2!

  What a brilliant game!

It arrived today, on release, around four o'clock... and it's now nine, and I still can't stop playing it!

The music... is so awesome... going to some areas and hearing classic Mario tunes really brings a smile as you instantly remember it!

When you fly through the Galaxy ... the only word that can be used is... Wow!

Its a really really beautiful game, It's so relaxing, and some of the levels are fiendishly clever, with tricks everywhere.

The Graphics... are AMAZING! They really must have been working on this game's looks because it looks like a 360 title! This raises the bar for future Wii games... and (hopefully) stops lazy developers taking Playstation 2 ports to the Wii.

This is the game of the year IMO.
Mario is back on form. Well done Nintendo, you deserve a pat on the back... *pat pat*
It's a Me! Mario!
