Approximately the size of three stacked DVD cases, the Wii's elegant, compact design makes it a natural addition to your entertainment setup without monopolising it. Thanks to the Wii Remote, you're given more freedom to place the console where it best suits your lifestyle.
Controls: Intuitive control for anyone using the physical motion of the main Wii Remote, which resembles a television remote control. Up to four Wii Remotes can be connected at once using wireless Bluetooth technology. The wireless signal can be detected within 10 metres of the console. Both the Wii Remote and Nunchuk include a three-axis motion sensor. The Wii Remote also includes a speaker, rumble feature and expansion port, and can be used as a pointer within 5 metres of the screen. The Wii Remote has a Power switch, +Control Pad, A Button, B Button, - Button, + Button, Home Button and 1 and 2 Buttons. The Nunchuk includes an analogue control stick and C and Z Buttons.
Media: A single self-loading media bay will play single or double-layered 12-centimetre optical discs for the Wii, as well as 8-centimetre Nintendo GameCube discs.
Communication: The Wii can communicate with the Internet even when the power is turned off. This WiiConnect24 service delivers a new surprise or game update, even if users do not play with Wii. Users can connect wirelessly using IEEE 802.11b/g, or with a Wii LAN adaptor. Wii can also communicate wirelessly with Nintendo DS.
Other features: Four ports for classic Nintendo GameCube controllers. Two slots for Nintendo GameCube Memory Cards. An AV multi-output port for component, composite or S-video.
Virtual Console: It has been more than 20 years since the debut of the NES. Since then, a rich heritage of different gaming platforms and countless games has come and gone. A wide selection of Virtual Console games is available to download from the Internet via the Wii Shop Channel.

I've been wanting a wii for some time, i'm not a big gamer by any means and have never brought a games console for myself and i have to say that i'm very happy with my purchase. The sleak black design is pleasing to the eye and a lot more grown up looking then the original white console. I got it for 229.99 slightly cheaper then the currect price but still a fantastic deal and i've had no end of fun since. I've played the wii before and i'm finding the motion+ a great tool it seems to be so much more sensitive then the original remote. As for the Games we all know how much fun Wii Sports is, Sports Resort i'm having a lot of fun with Basketball is excellent. The Wii Fit+ is also great i had my first go of hula hooping last night felt like a total plank but was giggling away the whole time, the step routines are fun and i'm finding Yoga very hard but it's meant to be so i'm persevering. Overall this is a great deal...of fun and well worth the money.
I have a PS3 but I bought one of these as something the family can play when they are round and something I can switch on and get straight into playing. Incidently the web browser is quicker than the PS3 and easier to navigate. The glossy black finish camouflages the Wii with my LCD TV which is probably why I bought one. Seems more sophisticated than a white Wii. After using the Balanceboard for half an hour I can easily build up a sweat and although I feel like an idiot it is a lot of fun. I plan to get some more games to play online with my family.
For only 225 pounds this product is so worth your money because if the wii and wii fit were bought seperatly it would be about 60 pounds dearer so is an excellent price. The black console blends better than the white console with my tv so the only problem is most of the accesories for the wii are white but other than that it is definate must have for those thinking of getting a wii and a wii fit!! xx
After reading some of the reviews on this product I could not waste any time in sending for it myself, and yes it has arrived and I think it is fantastic for the price, our friend had one and we tried hers out and we said we would like one ourselves. Even bought the extra remote and Nunchuk today would definatly recommend it.
very nice to look at and fits in well with our tv, my family and i are having so much fun with it, i wanted a black wii and was a bit put out that the balance board was white, it would look so much nicer if it was all black and i would of given it 5*
