I have been thinking about buying a Call Of Duty game for the Wii for some time now but whilst the others were very good they were also lacking something too. Black Ops is the game I have been waiting for because developer Treyarch having really gone out with all guns blazing this time. Producers Activision really have got the 1st person shoot-em up market for themsleves at the moment because they also released the equally fantastic Goldeneye recently too. It is well worth buying yourself a Wii Zapper which comes free with the enjoyable Link's Crossbow Training and can also be used for Goldeneye 007 and many other Wii shooters. The graphics are breath taking for a Wii game and one does get use to alot of Wii games being cartoon style graphics. This game contains strong language and bloody violence which is not suitable for people under the age of 15 even it does have a rating of 18. I saw the film Basic Instinct when I was only 14 years old and this did not effect me because I was mature in many ways part from the fact that I thought Sharon Stone was really hot etc. There are three fun ways to play this game which include the awesome single player campaign, excellent online multiplayer mode which works very well indeed and the fun co-op Zombies mode. Call Of Duty: Black Ops ticks all the right boxes and the only thing that is missing is a four player split screen deathmatch mode which would have been a right laugh with some mates and beer.
I have owned the 360 and PS3 in the past but got rid of them and decided to game on my PC. As my PC is getting on a bit I ummed and arred and decided to try it on the Wii. I must admit I was a bit sceptical as whether it would be any good or not as I waited for it to load up. But man was I surprised, the graphics are the best I've seen on the Wii. OK they're not as polished as the HD consoles but are crisp and clear with nice textures the frame rate gets a bit choppy when the action really heats up but not so much as it is unplayable. It's good to see that Treyarch have included multiplayer and zombie mode. The campaign is very enjoyable and the story is good. No problem with the controls took me a bit to get used to but I now prefer them to a normal controller, If you have a TV thats compatible make sure you get the component cable to really appreciate the visuals. This game proves that the Wii can be a great system for the more serious gamer. GET IT BOUGHT!
after 25 hours of game play online and single player,i found the whole thing somewhat dissapointing-single player game is split by an anoying story line whitch disrupts gameplay,as soon as you get into it yet another cut scene appears-reminds me of CHOP TIL U DROP-not good, online graphics are no better than conduit, turn speed is not rapid enough some nice touches but on the whole this game is OK but just not good enough-if you want high speed smooth shooting action get MODERN WARFARE REFLEX! a much better game from start to finish.
