When some creature escapes into space with Princess Peach, Mario gives chase, exploring bizarre planets all across the galaxy.

The ultimate Nintendo hero is taking the ultimate step... out into space. Join Mario as he ushers in a new era of video games, defying gravity across all the planets in the galaxy. Players run, jump and battle enemies as they explore all the planets in the galaxy. Since this game makes full use of all the features of the Wii Remote, players have to do all kinds of things to succeed: pressing buttons, swinging the Wii Remote and the Nunchuk, and even pointing at and dragging things with the pointer.
  • Shake, tilt and point! Mario takes advantage of all the unique aspects of the Wii Remote and Nunchuk controller, unleashing new moves as players shake the controller and even point at and drag items with the pointer.
  • Mario essentially defined the 3D platforming genre with Super Mario 64, and this game proves once again that he is king
  • Players perform mind-bending, lowgravity jumps across wild alien terrain as they experience platforming for a new generation
  • Mario dons new suits! As Bee Mario and Boo Mario, you'll use these special suits to help Mario fly and turn invisible. What other suits will you find?
  • A new character, Rosalina, makes her debut. This Watcher of the Stars aids Mario on his quest to find her friend, the Grand Star, in addition to Princess Peach.

i bought a wii just for this game and galaxy 2 and have never regretted it, i still play the galaxy games years after release that's how good they are. everyone knows mario is a platformer but galaxy takes the simple concept of past mario games and flips it upside down and blasts it into space (literally)! some worlds have you runnin upside-down while others have you flying around as bee mario! the galaxy games are stuffed with creativity and crazy gameplay and amazing level design you just dont see anywhere else. overall i would give this 10/10 and mario galaxy 2 is even better! 11/10? if you can afford them both then i would say go for it and enjoy them and keep them forever. great game.....

Mario is still the King when comes to platform games!!!!!!!!

I have been playing Mario games from the beginning with Super Mario Bros on the N.E.S and for me Mario 64 was the best Mario game until Super Mario Galaxy came along. I don't know how Nintendo do it but they some how always find new ways in keeping the Mario games fresh and they always play like a dream. As you might have already gussed in Mario Galaxy you travel the universe and the levels are simply breathtaking. Mario has never looked so good and I can't stop smiling as I try collecting all the stars in this most amazing game. If you love this game then buy yourself a copy of Super Mario Galaxy 2 which improves on this amazing game!
