From Revelations to Revolution

2012 sees Ubisoft's flagship franchise return for the most epic adventure yet in Assassin's Creed 3.

Building on the rich storyline established in previous games in the series, this new entry into the Assassin's Creed saga is the most expansive and ambitious offering yet, bringing tantalising new revelations on the ongoing war between the Assassins Brotherhood and the Knights Templar.
Set in 18th century Colonial America during the time of the Revolutionary War, Assassin's Creed 3 introduces gamers to a new protagonist in the form of Connor Kenway, a half-English, half-Native American man, who becomes unwittingly drawn into the conflict after his home is attacked by colonists.

Featuring a variety of significant historical figures from the period, such as George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, General Lafayette and King George III, as well as brilliantly realised recreations of 18th century cities including Boston and New York, Assassin's Creed 3 continues the series' tradition of bringing history vividly to life in a fresh and exciting new way, with scenarios rarely seen in the world of videogames.

And the action won't just be confined to the cities. Players will also have the opportunity to explore the vast untamed frontier, engaging in pursuits never-before-seen in the Assassin's Creed franchise, like hunting a variety of wild animals. You'll even be able to skin the animals and trade their pelts as part of the enhanced in-game economy. There will be a variety of new weapons to play with too, including bayonets, bows, tomahawks and rope darts.

In addition to the 18th century action, Assassin's Creed 3 will also focus more heavily on present day events in the life of series mainstay Desmond Miles as the ever-deepening Templar conspiracy finally reaches its shocking conclusion.

With what promises to be the most significant gameplay developments in the history of the franchise, Assassin's Creed 3 is shaping up to be the most thrilling release of 2012.

As much as I loved my Wii and have had, many hours of fun with my family with it. There were always certain games that I really wanted to have and play which were on the PS3. I would say my patience has paid off because the Wii U version is the best. The reason for this is the Wii U GamePad which allows me to play the full game with the tv switched off. If I'm in a middle of a game no longer do I need to quit, if my partner or daughter want to watch the tv. One can play on the Wii U like a 3DS, which is very cool and Batman Arkham City: Armored Edition can also be played like this. The first thing that hit me with Assassin's Creed III is the graphics really are stunning, from inside the opera house, at sea, in cities on the roof-tops and outside in woods with the snow and all the wildlife. The story is really gripping and has got me hooked right in. There are many different people friend or foe, which you encounter on your journey and I must say the voice acting has impressed me a lot as well. I have fond the combat to be smooth and fluid. I like doing Stealth kills the best and the way Conner can climb buildings and jump from roof to roof, it really does make you feel like a deadly assassin. Picking locks by using the two control sticks is a clever way of using the controls. The sheer scope and size of this game is breathtaking and if you like this game, then you will also really in enjoy Batman Arkham City which has similar sytle of gameplay in many ways.

only started and absolutely loving it

im only a few hours in to the story which with this sort of game hasnt even scratched the surface, its amazing, the sheer scope of the game is breath taking and looks amazing in all its glory on wii u, havent played assassins creed before and im glad i waited for it to be on a nintendo system because although the gamepad implementation isnt ground breaking it does enhance the experience
