4.5 An Able, Though Not Superior Successor to Batman 1 evinr1 | 25/11/2013 | See all evinr1's reviews (3) Make no mistake, all Lego minifigure games are fantastic. This one is just slightly less so than its predecessor. With the addition of new DC comics characters, including Superman and Wonder Woman together with their unique abilities, this game has a lot to offer. It is still just as fun to take your minifigures through the story, solving puzzles and looking for hidden collectables. As a new feature, you can use the minifigures you have obtained to roam around a virtual Gotham City. Within this scenario you can ride purchased vehicles, save citizens in peril, and find collectable items. However, to make room for this extra content, the actual story has been truncated. For me the magic of the adventure is ... the adventure ! That is, following a story with my trusty lego minifigure. In this regard, Batman 1 is superior. The storyline was longer (or at least felt longer), it was richer in content. This is surprising considering it had less minifigures available to it. The Batman 2 version even has flying characters and a lot more figures overall, with some worthy new abilities; for example The Flash which has speed building and Green Lantern which has imaginative object building ability. A slight disappointment then, is the fact that a lot of the new characters are not fully utilised till very late in the story. The overall result is a highly enjoyable game, with a lot to offer. Although it does not capture the sheer magic of the original, which is a 5 star game, it is still a worthy member of the Lego Minifigure game genre.
