The Wii Component Cable links your Wii console to your TV, allowing you to view and enjoy your games with the best possible image display. Component video splits the signal into three separate channels of video information for the ultimate connection quality. The cable includes five connectors - three for video, and two for left and right stereo audio. Cable length is approximately 2.5 metres. Before using the Wii Component Cable, make sure your TV can accept component video connections - they are usually marked Y, PB, PR and are coloured green, blue and red.

If you have an HD TV with component inputs then you must get this cable, it scales your Wii visuals to 480p (480 horizontal lines scanned progressively).

Although this is not High definition - HD being 720p, 1080i or 1080p. This cable removes the pixelation you get from the standard composite connection. Fits it to your Widescreen display so the aspect ratio is fine, and allows you to connect it to your home cinema amp to enjoy Dolby Prologic 2 if you can decode it.

A must buy for any HDTV owner - The difference is remakable

 mixed feelings

i have to admit i have mixed feelings about this cable. ok its probably the best picture you will get on the wii, that is if you compare it to the original cables that come with the console. I started out with them and firstly upgraded to the offical rgb scart cable as i did not have a hd tv, this makes a huge difference in my opinion. ( yes i changed the settings of the console ) However, upgrading from the rgb scart cable to this hd cable with my new tv doesn't really give that much of a better picture. As people have stated the wii cant show 720 or 1080 resolution so its not gonna look as good as a 360 or ps3. plus if you have a 360 then you will have to get a new cable ( either vga or hdmi ) for that as this will take up the component conections on your tv. My advice........ if you dont have any other games consoles get this. if you already have a 360 or ps3 then the rgb scart cable will perform nearly as well.

 its pretty good

for all those people like me who haves no idea what all those other people are talking about like 1080fps and rubbish like that. ill keep it simple, this cable is pretty good it improves the look of the game but i dont think the price is right for this, it should be a bit cheaper considerin u can get a game for the amount ur paying.

so yea it makes it look better, but you have to remember the wii was not designed to be a hd console, it was made for everybody if you have a hd or not so dont expect great amazing graphics :D

 No more fuzz!

This is a must if you have a Wii and a HDTV. It removes all of the fuzz around the images and gives you a much clearer output.

However the person who wrote that it didn't make any difference obviously forgot to change the output setting in the Wii options which changes it to 480p.

This is not true HD by any means but it does make the graphics on your Wii far superior :)

For 480p/576p, do we really need this?

| | See all wiigotit's reviews (3)

The wii only output 480p (NTSC) or 576p (PAL) video signal. Having this cable will not make the video signal output become 720p, 1080i or 1080p. You should not be buying this cable because you think the resolution would be higher. (It won't!) The reason to buy this cable should be after improving the video signal quality. (Actually the original RCA cable/SCART converter which comes with the wii, is not too bad already.)
